Konak Cafe — Restaurant in England

As others have mentioned this place charges highly inflated prices for very bog standard food which is greasy & you come away feeling very unhealthy even when ordering what’s considered the healthy options on the menu. There are many places in Wilmslow that offer significantly better quality food. One particular member of staff a man wearing glasses walks around the cafe with so much arrogance & control issues like he owns the place telling customers where to sit even when the place is completely empty & another has clearly told you “sit anywhere you like” which is very confusing & irritating. He then starts scrubbing the wall right next to me which surely should be something done at the end of the day so the place looks presentable & is ready for opening not first thing in morning as people are trying to eat. The place opens at 8am yet staff seem to be eating their own breakfast ahead of offering any customer service. Why not just get to work earlier & eat then open ready to serve the public? They speak Turkish amongst themselves loudly then struggle to understand conversations in English, it would probably help if they concentrated on practicing English in the work environment & they may be in a position to offer better customer service rather than walking around the place miserable giving customers dirty looks & preying on their tables wanting you to leave quickly. We had breakfast here and their menu has a Full English breakfast (with one item of everything) and then they have the Big Breakfast which states it has TWO of everything. When the food came there was two of everything but only ONE egg?? When I asked our lovely waiter why we only had one egg he said “it’s just always been like that”, brushed me off and just carried on. Now I don’t mind one egg but it was NOT CLEAR on the menu that I would only get ONE egg with the Big Breakfast. Either they let people know when they order or they add that information to the menu.

And also, as lovely as the staff were, they were very dismissive of customers. This place had a hurried feel about it.

My wife and I tried this cafe for brunch and we were both really disappointed.

The quality of the food was very low, the cooking was very poor, and the presentation made the food unappetising. It was so poor in fact, that we had a couple of bites and then decided to pay and go somewhere else.

In particular the eggs were overdone and not seasoned, the avocado was so minimal it was spread as thick as you’d normally spread butter, and the toast was a made from a very cheap bread.

For the cost of £9.50 a breakfast I expected much more, and this is comfortably the worst value dining experience I have had in the Manchester/Wilmslow area and we won’t be returning.
