We visited here today with our chocolate Labrador, Hershey. We will definitely be returning! The owners of the pub were incredibly friendly and so welcoming! It's an extremely dog friendly pub although we sat in the garden as it was sunny! We ordered a fish goujon baguette and two small plates of teriyaki pork belly and beef satay skewers. All the food was absolutely lovely and we can't wait to go back! We also had an Aperol spritz and a beer and they were fab. If you're in the area then we highly recommend!!!

Great pub hidden away down an alley, dog friendly pub/restaurant with a great menu with everything from fresh Pizza, Fresh Mussels to Salads and Snacks. Little wait as everything is made fresh but staff looked after us with drinks and lollies for the kids! Our server Sophie was gr8!

Really enjoy the Spread. Staff are lovely and the food/beer is good. Dog friendly spot and toasty by the log burner. Been a few times now and hope to return soon. Chicken curry, with home made chips is tasty, Wye Valley beer always good and puddings are sound too.

First time visiting under the new management. Although all the staff where very nice and the prices where fair. I found the food wasn't very good.

Starting with the pork belly bites, which where dry and hard, although they where covered in teriyaki sauce you could still taste how dry they where.

The 1k muscles dish was overwhelming and lacking flavour and presentation. The sauce was thin and sat at the bottom of the bowl with none of it touching the muscles at all. The sauce also lack much flavour. Found that quite alot of the muscles where smashed and broken which left me feeling uneasy and afraid that they might of been forced open, which is a big no no in preparing muscles.

The other dish we had was a club sandwich the menu stated it came with chips and a side salad. It actually came with crisps which were very plain and had no flavour at all. The salad was two pieces of pepper and some lettuce with no dressing or dressing offered. As for the sandwich it was flavour less. The mayo was cheap and had a watery texture and the bread was thin and fell apart as I tried to eat it.

Over all the experience was disappointing.

I would of said something but as a small female I felt intimidated by the amount of male staff on shift, and seeing the chef walking around with a angry expression on his face I didn't feel comfortable talking about his food to him .

May try here again at another time. Hope things improve because the energy of the place...

Very disappointed. Young staff not very welcoming, too busy whispering amongst themselves to offer ice n slice for our gins, not a good start. Waiting time to take our food order was a little long even though the place wasn't busy. Food came, looked ok and homemade. Waitress was told we were missing our extra sides, she acknowledged that but never came back. We carried on eating and had finished when we were checked on by another waitress, we explained that we were disappointed as we had elements missing that were stated on the menu and the extra sides including chips and onion rings. Incidentally a plain burger was ordered but came with unwanted bacon and the burger was alot smaller than the bun. Plates were cold. Salad had been dressed with balsamic but left to sit so was very wilted. Garlic bread poorly made and obviously heated in the micro so was partly rock hard. On payment we complained, we received a token apology while the girls were spending too much time looking for someone to blame. The missing sides were removed from the bill but no other recompense...

Unfortunately our experience at the Spread Eagle was not great. We were served by youngsters who didn't seem like they wanted to be there. My friend was shocked to find that it was the first place he'd been to for food that didn't have sparkling water !!!! Our main meals were ok but very expensive. Our desserts and coffees were quite frankly awful! My friend ordered a cappuccino that looked liked dishwater, no foam and no offer of chocolate! My coffee was luke warm and then cold after I added the milk and as for the fruit crumble? More like suet with bit of fruit in. I knew when I walked in that I should have walked straight back out! It was practically empty on a Sunday lunchtime!!! Never a good sign. The place was cold and had no atmosphere. A real dissapointment and not a place I will be going to again. I don't like leaving negative reviews and always try to add positives so here's one. The lamb dinner was nice. Very much along the quality you would expect at a Toby Carvery just...
