Luciano's The mad Italian — Restaurant in England

Had a pleasant meal here with my partner. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with a special thank you to the lady who found us an alternative table with more space for a big lad like me. If you want an authentic Italian atmosphere on this, side of Rome this is the place to go. However, it is quite compact, bijou, and popular, so I'd recommend trying to reserve a table in advance.

The food itself was excellent, undoubtedly some of the best seafood and fish we've had locally. I would say the menu is compact with a strong emphasis on fish, steak and seafood. Unusually for an Italian, the pasta choices were somewhat limited. Also this is not a fast food joint, everything is freshly cooked to order and is well worth the wait that brings. My only slight disappointment was the limited choice of side dishes either chips or salad and nothing else.

Cannot fault a single thing! The food is always incredible, authentic and full of flavour. I don’t even need to ask for a dish, I just tell the owner I’m a vegetarian and he takes care of the rest. Two occasions I’ve done the same, the first we received a creamy, rich white sauce pasta full of vegetables and I thought it couldn’t get better than that. The second time I did the same, asked for a veggie dish, and received an exquisite tomato pasta, creamy and delicious. Also not a huge fan of cheese on my pizzas so asked for a tomato garlic bread both times and it did not disappoint, the best pizza dough I’ve tasted. I have dreams about this food, it’s so good! What a lovely hidden gem, we stumbled across by chance, and so glad we did. Really enjoyable I had beef carbonara with rice my 7yr old son had Mac & cheese and we share a beautifully made garlic n tomato bread one size thin base about 14 inches .. we kind of ordered a bit too much but we took some home with us in a kindly provided take away box. Excellent service and atmosphere too .. you don’t expect to find somewhere like that but glad we did. The Naploese chef and owner also came out to see us and could easily play a character in a martin Scorsese film. We will be back with the rest of the family for sure.. are you...
