New Man Lee Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Popped in no reservation at 7ish on a Saturday night, seated promptly lovely young lady and brought our drinks, a few moments later she took our food order, approximately 10 min later a lady who I assume is the owner came back and repeated our order to me i agreed with her on what we had ordered and sat back awaiting delivery of said food, the starters turned up promptly and very hot, the main course however... my partners turned up in a reasonable time with the side we ordered but apparently no main for me! Apparently the double check of our order resulted in mine getting lost in the system, no apology from the owner although many from the staff, the main we did receive wasn't the best, we ended up sharing it with the side and leaving still hungry! overall a very disappointing experience which we will not be...

So after reading the reviews, I decided to go and get a takeaway from here. Chicken chowmein and dry pork ribs. I also want for fried banana fritter. What could go wrong.

The ribs, usually red in colour, lacked any colour or flavour. I ate them and they were tasteless.

The banana fritters were not crispy, just soggy. Eaten due to not eating the main course below.

The Chow Mein consisted of 2 containers. One had dry crispy noodles, and the other had a broth of chicken and vegetables. No bean sprouts and chicken covered with soy sauce. I could not eat it. Disgusting.

Should have tried somewhere else. Would never return. Sorry as the lady at the front was quite friendly.

One final thing, I asked for chopsticks, they only had...

I've not been here for donkeys years. It hasn't changed. Very dated and grubby looking. Not at all inviting. Smelt musty. While taking our order she chose to go and answer the phone. Enough said. However, the food was delicious even though served somewhat haphazardly from steel roasting trays. Reminded me of Julie Walters and the 'soup' sketch. Not a complimentary prawn cracker in sight that are free with takeaway service if you spend over £18. We three spend £65 between us....
