I need to write to compliment a member of staff on duty at circa 20:30 on Monday 23rd September 2024.
The staff member’s name was CURTIS, whom I later found out was a crew trainer (I believe).
My query related to an order placed via the McDonald’s App. The issue was a payment had been recorded, after a table service order, as pending on my credit card having followed an error message via the app. I sought assistance with this matter and Curtis unflinchingly obliged whilst the restaurant was busy.
After expeditiously taking the time to seek and understand (information from the app and also reviewing the pending payment) and empathise with my situation he offered a very proactive customer recovery solution. My dilemma was that I couldn’t confirm that my order had been placed and queued! He sought to seek affirmation to my order, which was not evident, and having reviewed all the presented data offered a solution.
The solution may not have been the correct in the long term, (pending payment and no order still prevailing), however his understanding and quick action fed two hungry customers in a timely manner.
The solution was to order the same meal at a point of sale cash register without further payment.
He also took the time following an enquiry, by myself, to actually come to the table with an order update!
The food arrived by personal hand delivery and was gratefully received.
I felt I had to speak to the on shift manager, Zee, who was also very courteous and customer centric, and state that I shall posting a review/comment.
Now some may read this review and say it is only a burger! Well in this day and age of instant online gratification, non human interfacing etc, it was terrific for a slightly(ish!) older patron to have someone understanding to help!

Read moreI've given the resteraunt 5 stars because the workers don't deserve any less. The food is 3 stars not because of the resteraunt itself but because it's mcdonalds not a Michelin star meal. The service 5. Always 5. Atmosphere 1 but that's because it's usually crowded and my autistic ass really struggled in these overwhelming environments. But as someone who has worked and been served here, come hell or high water, the workers do their job and are kind. Trust me, you wouldnt believe the shitty people that come their way thinking they can take advantage because "the customer is always right". I once witnessed a woman demand chicken nuggets from the drive through, without being in a car, holding up the line of cars waiting because she was trynna order from the pick up window, which isn't possible, and started throwing things inside the store. Throughout the entire process the workers just politely told her that they cant take her order from there and need her to come into the store. The job doesn't pay well and isn't exactly the most inspiring dream either, but they always do their best to meet the demands of customers and on super packed days they work fast and everytime I've ordered, my food has normally been either freshly cooked and hot or if they forgot something they fix it no questions asked. They do not need to be doing this job, no one needs to be doing this job, but they do it so let's all be a little kinder to them when we go in as customers to have our budget mcdonalds meal next xxx If they get something wrong then just let them know gently and they'll fix it. I'll start with my last experience with the drive-through. I ordered, parked up, then waited for 45 minutes and no order. I then asked for a server to chase up the order and no results. Then I asked again 10 minutes later, and still nothing. On my third attempt, I was told they had lost my order and would take a new order. This then arrived wrong! I had to drive back into the drive-through and wait at the window, refusing to move before I got the correct order. To compensate, I received some extra chilli cheese bites for free.
My experience from going into the restaurant to order was also questionable. Me and another made a small order before heading to the cinema( 2 portions of chips and mozzarella sticks). After 30 to 40 minutes, after multiple other customers were seen coming and going. We then chased up the order. The manager then got our order himself. I could see into the kitchen, and there seemed to be no direction, a lot of standing around, and no communication. I understand the staff are young, but this is no excuse. While we were waiting, I saw at least 2 other complaints being made.
Finally, my latest, a delivery (today) I received an egg mcmuffin which was full of eggshells! My girlfriend bit into it, cutting her gum. I will attach a photo. This was the last chance.
