Met three friends for a catch up / pre Christmas munch. We chose a table by the windows - nice to have views of the world & local characters going by. Three of us went for pizza meal deals (mine was about £9.67 with a drink). I had a garlic mushroom brie one - meant to be 11 inch, but it was bigger (a bonus). They all looked bigger! It was delicious; freshly cooked, not tough, or doughy, just right! I genuinely enjoyed it. I believe the others were enjoyed also. Service was excellent, we didn't have to wait too long. Easy to order (at the bar). Only maybe negatives might be a family with a young child who wanted to scream occasionally at the next table - a bit ear piercing, but it couldn't be helped. They tried their best to convince them not to be so loud. And the table in the other side was just a bit too close maybe - a gent there on his own had to move one of our chairs to get past occasionally. Once settled, he seemingly listened to music on headphones, but was then humming / singing quietly to himself half the time... I had to bite my lip not to laugh out loud, because when he did this, it was clearly out of tune, like a sketch from a comedy show. It's things like this that make life interesting though, so I'm not complaining! Free entertainment!
Would recommend! I'm sure we'll go back again one day, just as we have in the past, to the same table. Probably next Christmas as we rarely find time to all meet...
Read morePerfectly acceptable food and resteraunt, with plenty of space, but really badly organised systems and staff.

My parents phoned up on a Friday to book a table for Sunday, given it was close to Christmas. They were told that while they could reserve a table, they would have to pay a deposit, but that they couldn't do this over the phone; so they'd have to come in in person. This was ok, and they sent me in on Saturday afternoon, but it really seems that there should be a simpler method for this.....
When i did go in, it took quite some time to sort out, partly because it was so busy, but also because the first staff member I spoke to had no idea about bookings. The second staff member got the manager, who checked us off in a black folder, and I paid and left.
We were booked for a party of 12, for 1pm, and one of us was in a wheelchair.
When we arrived at 10 to 1, no table was ready for us and we had to wait about 20 mins for them to sort something out. When they did tell us the table was ready, it was up a small flight of steps, so we couldn't access it!
We then waited 10 more mins for them to sort another table out, which they did, but we really felt like we were a huge inconvenience, rather than paying patrons.

Read moreNormally love this place, cheap and cheerful, staff are lovely however, today the food wasn't thst great and me and my friend had food that were littered with cold, uncooked chips. Noone came to check if our food was OK for us to mention it to which they normally do.
BIG ISSUE WE FACE EVERYTIME WE COME HERE IS constsntly over crowded with students. Wouldn't be an issue but they come over 10 to a table, which obviously isn't big enough so then they're standing around, or squished into a booth, making it hard for other people to enjoy their food when they are shouting, swearing and god knows what else. It makes you so uncomfortable! Staff clearly see them all at one table when they bring over a drink or a small bowl of chips or something cheap they buy to be allowed to stay in the pub but say nothing, not even asking them to move to a bigger table or anything. In the end we left. Leaving most of our food uneaten. Just couldn't relax. I know it's next to a collage but have some consideration and set rules so payiing customers aren't made to feel uncomfortable or have to sit and listen to shouting and swearing from a bunch of Kids who are just taking up space for somewhere to hang out...
