Muffin Break Middlesbrough — Restaurant in England

Used this cafe last year and the service was fantastic and the staff really friendly and the food and drink pretty decent to be honest.

Went in here the other day and we were waiting on the cue to be served for around 10 minutes which seemed Abit long but they were 3 or 4 orders in front so it's understandable.

Once we got the front of the cue we were stood around 7 minutes with no acknowledgement or no one comming to serve us even though there was staff around the other side from the front playing on there phones whilst one was making drinks.

We got our little boy and headed off as I said to my partner we would just leave it and go somewhere else to which they then wanted to serve us and then the gentleman said or so your going now to which I explained yes as we were waiting over 15 minutes to be served whilst there's a young lass chilling on her phone and we just got a head shake and a rude comment.

Terrible customer service definitely won't be going back anymore the staff last year were amazing when we used to have a day out to middlesbrough but seems to have gone down hill on terms of customer service.

Only went for the milkshake but there's a milkshake type bar in the same centre which is amazing which we tried for the first time since this incident and one we will use from now on as the staff are great and the milkshakes are to die for so I shall...

The coffee is well made and full-bodied, which is always a good thing for a coffee shop...

But the muffins! Oh the muffins! I had the delightful task of demolishing an apple and cinnamon muffin which was delicious, slightly crispy on the top but no soggy bottom. I also noticed the advert for their chocolate orange muffins; another time, maybe...

They have made an effort to with the cage lights, which do nothing for the ambient light levels, but do add some character.

I am disabled and ride a relatively large mobility scooter, I had no trouble manoevering as the layout of the area was well thought out and uncluttered (unlike many of the shops around).

I asked a member of staff if they would be so kind as to fetch me a second coffee (did I mention it was very good?), which she did with a very nice manner.

I will definitely re-attend if I am in this area because of the friendly staff, character of the place, the good coffee and OH MAN THOSE MUFFINS!!!

I visited this establishment with my Son yesterday Friday the 22nd of July going by the pictures on Goggle and obviously the many excellent reviews which were nothing but lies. The tables were filthy which were supposed to be wiped clean after use but were done so with a dirty cloth leaving smears over every table, the floor was also filthy, the staff were scruffy and unkept and had not a clue what they were doing. The flies that were hovering around the tables were unbelievable I had to keep waving them away from our coffee cups and the slice of cake that I was trying to eat. The Environmental Health in Middlesbrough should be stepping in and getting this establishment shut down as in my opinion it is most definitely a health...
