Nandos just made fast food faster (and spicier). Upon arriving at the restaurant I was greeted by extraordinary and friendly staff who were more than happy to teach me the ins and outs of this special chicken experience.
I ordered a fino pita (with two sides I might add) at the Till and was assured that it would be prepared with the upmost care and quality. Before I had even finished ordering it was already cooking on the grill. Wow! I even received a 40% discount from a staff member who is only known as ‘Leonard’. Apparently a legend around these parts? Either way the service I was given was out of this world (someone give ‘Leonard’ a pay rise!).
Shown to my table by another amazing member of staff, no stone was left unturned. Did I need a plate? A knife and fork? They thought of everything and I couldn’t have asked for more.
Then, my food arrived, and the real journey began. I will never forget the warm, mouth tingling experience of my first peri salted fry. I was in heaven. Who had created such a wonder? And more importantly, who had cooked it?! Next, I bit down into the pita, the sweet chutney caressed my lips as I wrapped them around the tender chicken, slid between two soft buns. I felt an explosion inside of me and it seemed like every pleasure point on my body had been touched at once. Alongside the spiced grains a mixture of hard flavours nestled between some white, sticky feta, I was stuffed. Feel free to see my polished plate below as evidence!
Safe to say, I will never forget my first experience (of Hove Nandos). If I could give it 10 stars I would, my only regret being that I finished a bit too quickly! I will definitely be coming back here and recommending this fine establishment and it’s sensational staff to the people of Hove....
Read moreAs we were about to make an order the lady at the till asked if we had any allergy so I said I did and she called the manager to take my order and he asked me what kind of allergy was it and I said bell peppers. He told me that all the food they have contains bell peppers and I couldn’t have anything to eat in there. I told him I’ve eaten already many times at Nando’s and I’ve been fine. He was not very polite in his way of speaking and he walked away saying that’s not considered as al allergy so the other lady could take my order. The point is, does he know much about the entire menu to have the audacity to say that with that tone? Cause I don’t remember having a portion of chips that contains bell peppers. Or mushroom, or peas, or mashed potatoes?? Or was it just a way to get rid of some costumers? as the place was looking pretty busy. As I said, I’ve eaten many times there and I’ve been fine. So I would suggest him to review the allergy menu before turning people away. Secondly, I believe some of the staff confuse being polite and giving a good service with flirting. A waitress in red top (which I believe she’s in charge of walking costumers to the table) has been a bit “too friendly” to my partner for the entire time, not caring of the fact I was right there. Didn’t notice her being so caring to other people in there. Not so respectful. I’ve also worked in a restaurant before and if I would have been “polite” the same way this waitress was, I would’ve gotten half of Brighton phone’s number by now. Overall the food has always been okay. The service behaviour and standards should...
Read moreHad a really poor interaction with a member of staff this evening. The restaurant which was clearly very busy when we arrived so there was no surprise when the individual at the door informed us there would be a 25 minute wait for a table. We were more than happy to wait and I said this would be fine, the individual said nothing more and we left. We returned after 30 minutes and asked for a table of two again - it was the same individual who we had initially spoken to. He said that there was a 30 minute wait for food and we explained we’d been told the same thing 25 minutes ago, so we had returned after waiting as requested. He then asked if we had put our names on “the list”… at this point I’m very confused. there was no mention of a list when we first asked for a table. I imagine it was a genuine miscommunication and it simply wasn’t made clear that we needed to hang around to provide a name. However, after explaining again that we weren’t informed of a list, the worker then sarcastically said “that’s how a queue works”. I responded we were happy to wait, but it’s a shame that no one explained we needed to provide our names and now we would have to wait another 30 minutes. He offered no apology or solution so we left. Given it’s the responsibility of the restaurant to communicate how their queuing system works, it would have been great to receive a friendly apology for the confusion, even if the situation couldn’t be rectified. However, all we received was a patronising comment in front of other customers… the whole experience was really quite embarrassing and a waste of our...
