Read moreWell ok it’s Nando’s and it’s kind of what you expect from a Nando’s food wise. That’s peri peri chicken in some form or another kind of similar to what the menu says. I mean a “chicken pitta with aioli sauce, red onion relish topped with lettuce” will most likely be a pitta with chicken but the rest of it will be a gamble ,except the little bit of lettuce mushed down at the bottom will usually be there (not exactly “topped” unless you don’t know your arse from your elbow) So basically you get sort of similar to what the menu says but, yeah chicken. There are veggie options along the lines of some kind of bean burger which aren’t too bad.
This particular Nando’s always has a wait for tables, always has empty tables, always has dirty tables waiting to be cleared and rubbish on the floor ( cutlery and napkins not like in the streets at least). Some of the staff are great, friendly and cheerful, others not.
Overall for a quick chomp of chicken with a seat it’s ok but if Mac Donald’s ever started doing spicy chicken breast in a pitta there’s guys would go bust fast. That should give you a fair idea of this Nando’s anyway. Others are better or worse.
Oh yeah and the google pictures of cakes and stuff...
Read moreVery disappointed. My favourite dish is the chicken livers renowned for their soft, creamy texture but instead I was served luke warm tough chewy livers that were an effort to put my fork into! Their previously generous delicious crisp green side salad has been replaced with a sour pickled red cabbage salad with tomato and cucumber served in a tiny side bowl.... not a lettuce leaf in sight... gutted! The usually lovely warm crusty Portuguese roll was cold and chewy. My partner ordered a Fino Pitta described as.....toasted pitta filled with two flame-grilled chicken thighs or a chicken breast with grilled halloumi cheese, caramelised red onion relish, wild garlic aioli and lettuce...... what he actually got was half a large pitta with 2 tiny bits of chicken breast, no halloumi, or relish and shoved right down the bottom was a few bits of iceberg lettuce and a dollop of mayo! Pathetic! Not even close to the menu photo and certainly not worth the price paid for any of it. We didn't send back the food because my son was taking us out as a treat, this being our pre concert meal and so we didn't want to sour the evening by complaining about the food. Nandos used to be one of my favourite eateries.......
