This is possibly the best restaurant in all of Leigh-on-sea/Southend. I was very impressed with not only the the flavors but the obvious quality of the ingredients. There wasn’t a single element of the food that wasn’t carefully chosen and delicious. It’s not light food, so if you’re very hungry this is the place for you. It is small but right on the water. We felt like we were on a boat without any of the motion. I was less than impressed with the staff. They took forever to take our order even though she came and asked us three times if we were ready to order (we said yes all three times) but she would say “ok! I’ll get my pad” every time and we wouldn’t see her again. They were friendly enough but forgot so many things. We got arancini balls instead of falafel. But they looked so similar we started in on them and only then realized. We didn’t complain though because they were delicious and we liked them. But we could have easily been disappointed with the wrong order. Our waitress then forgot to bring us water, then condiments we asked for and then our coffees which my husband never ended up getting. And to finish with they were only taking cash that day, I think because their machines were down. But they forgot to tell so many people who then had to send someone from the table to hunt down an ATM which were not close. I still give them 5 stars because the food made up for all the mess with the service. And I will be back, armed with cash, just in case.

Worst breakfast I’ve ever had, saw a rating saying it was the best in Southend so thought I’d give it a go. Bacon was hard and over cooked and when I asked for scrambled egg instead of fried I was told NO as it’s easier for the chefs to do fried or poached on their full English. So i asked if they did scrambled egg, they do but only on toast? Unsure as to why it’s unavailable for the breakfast. The eggs Benedict was also cold and bacon dry the sauce was also cold. It Was a takeaway preorder and I still ended up waiting 10 minutes, my guess was they messed the order up and had to redo something as I was home within 4 minutes and eating within 5! So good should have been fresh still. Would not recommend take away for this reason, and eating in may be a different experience I am willing to give them another go and see if it was just a bad day as I’ve heard so many good things about this place was just a disappointment to be served cold food.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Oliver's for breakfast, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by an exceptional staff—warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive to every need. The food was amazing and delicious, the ambience of the place was heightened by the views over the Thames, creating a serene atmosphere that complemented the meal beautifully. The coffee deserves a special mention—it was expertly brewed, with a rich aroma and taste that provided the perfect finish to an exquisite breakfast. Oliver's is a must-visit for anyone seeking a top-notch breakfast experience in a lovely setting, I highly recommend it.

This is a lovely little Restaurant with great views of the sea. The service is amazing. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very attentive and accommodating. The decor is rustic, well designed and put together. Giving you a real beach hut experience. Food was really good. Healthy Home Cooked Food. Children's menu was also so good with real chicken nuggets. Not your fast food rubbish. Definitely would visit this place again on our next visit. Dessert menu was great too. Oh and the tea pot for one was generous. A great little spot with a view, literally on the Beach. If you fell out the window you'll fall in the sea...literally.
