PATHETIC PEEPOS
Today (21/01/23) I went into peepos to have a lunchtime meal with some old friends who I had not seen for years, I was recommended peepos as one of the best places to have food in Bridgnorth. To say I am disgusted is an understatement, we booked the table in advance to avoid any waiting time, got to peepos and was told that there was customers at our table and they had “overstayed there welcome” and we would have to wait.
Obviously with booking in advance we didn’t think this would be the case but by any means we still waited, once we were shown to our table one of the waitress’ came over to order our drinks, those were ordered and then slammed down on the table when brought over which we thought we’d give her the benefit of the doubt because accidents happen.
Unfortunately this was not the case, we ordered on the 3 courses for £11.95 and we were so disappointed, the portion size of the starter : chicken strips was minimal obviously taking into account this was a 3 course meal for £11.95 we didn’t expect a lot but more than the bare minimum that was given; 2 chicken strips with sour cream and chive smeared on the plate with approximately 3 square pieces of stale cucumber and 2 pieces of lettuce.
After the starters were cleared up, we waited a further hour for our mains to arrive, we did not get a courtesy check of any form not even a Thankyou for gathering the plates together and more or less doing their job for them.
Mains arrived and we were more or less pressured into finishing quickly because apparently peepos have a brief break between 3.30-5pm (although the entire duration of our meal they were on a break apart from of course when they needed to close!! because anything that involves having any form of customer service skills was none existent) not to mention the mains were cleared when we were still eating 😂
We wanted to order deserts and was tutted at when we stated we did in fact want a deserts, maybe if the mains didn’t take an hour to come out maybe we wouldn’t have run over?????? Just a food for thought?
After finishing the shop bought desserts we asked for the bill and was told to “pay when we leave” and then proceeded to wait a further 5 minutes to get seen to actually pay them.
The food was not worth £73.20 And the cheek of the service charge was actually laughable.
Just so I’m clear a “service charge” is for the service provided? Yeah?
So why would we pay for rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful women who clearly need to go back to stage one of “how to treat people in customer service”
I’ve had better service going into McDonald’s.
If you want rubbish food and rude inconsiderate women who by the way think they are better than god himself then please entertain yourself and go...

Service was slow but that's due to lack of staff which is understandable, waitress was lovely but you could see she was under a lot of pressure.
Kids meals for the youngest of the group were the last to come out, kids were sat there for ages without their meals and very hungry!
After the first / second course we had to ask multiple times for the table to be cleared but once again that's down under-staffing.
When deserts arrived, what was supposed to be a hot desert came out still frozen in the middle and inedible. The starters and mains were okay, no complaints there.
One other thing that was annoying was the "Service Charge" that was added to the bill without asking us. A lot of other reviewers have complained about this. I don't feel that it was justifiable to just add this onto the bill. It is discretionary but other restaurants actually ask you if you would like to add a tip - Maybe a suggestion to stop the complaints?...
When one of the other members of the group was speaking to who I think was the owner / proprietor, I was stood behind listening and he was being rather sharp and sarcastically apologetic while slightly raising his voice. It's almost like he was trying to just get rid of us and didn't give a damn about the business or feedback that was received. In my opinion, it was rather painful, rude and unprofessional...
I like to support small businesses as they are the backbone of this country but there were so many things done wrong.
Unfortunately, I don't think I, or anyone from the group will be returning...

When you squeeze in from the street it's like stepping into a TARDIS. From the truly extravagant menu which captures the very best from burgers to pizza to the most amazing sushi...all of which is a veritable index of great ideas and extraordinary hand made classics. You will need to order a drink first before you attempt to fully scope all that's on offer. The slightly mad hatter decor on split levels offers a crafty array of dining experiences and this being our 3rd visit in as many months, we had the option of a front row seat of the bustling sidewalks. Our host Phil has showcased his hospitality talent and precise attention to detail into everything. The walls literally drip with spices and virtuosity. We love the handcrafted sushi, the perfectly golden tempura prawns, the teasing heat of wasabi and the elegance of chopsticks presented with baby pandas resting. Who would have thought the evolution of what may have once been an historic venue could be so transformed as if lifted from a hidden street in London, New York or Sydney which only the rich and famous are afforded. As for the drinks, I dare you to tempt 2 pornstar martinis and then try to feel your face. If you can make it through to the carefully chosen and intoxicating desserts then you will leave feeling like a king. And that's the X Factor that industry professionals have in such natural abundance., and until now have been so...
