Pier View — Restaurant in England

I walked in the pub, bought a pint and sat in the restaurant section. It was 4pm, not busy and my remaining party arrived. Owner/man was so rude and obnoxious and shouted that we had messed his tables up and demanded everyone order a drink. There was no room outside tables.

Had to remind him he was in the hospitality industry serving the public and asked how we had messed his tables up. He could have kindly asked us to move into the pub area. But no, he had to be even ruder swearing at us. Small minded mentality, no awareness. It was asthough we had walked into his own living room and moved a few cushions around. You are there to serve the public matey.

If your brains were Windowlene, you wouldnt have enough to clean a squirrels monocle.

Steer clear of this place. Ignorant, unfriendly...

This didn't look on the surface as though it was going to provide the best meal we had on the Isle of Wight. Plain wooden tables, darkish interior, BUT wonderful service from the off friendly but unobtrusive. I had the 6oz steak and fries which came with a salad and a sauce to die for. My son in law had the chicken and bourbon rice salad. The chicken was presented in a different but equally delicious sauce. We followed with ice cream which was creamy and melt in the mouth, while the two young men with us enjoyed the cookie dough Sundae and cheese plate. 2 course for 5 plus drinks (mainly soft drinks) cost about £150 which worked out about £30 a head. we went to this place yesterday on our trip to isle of wight! while returning i wanted to try chicken baguette as we were not very hungry we ordered just one. i think the manager/owner came to take our order he expected us to order some more things but we didn’t want to! he went away with a weird expression untill then everything was fine. but then he came back with our dish. in my whole life i have never seen such pale looking dish that too served with soo much attitude. that was not a real baguette which they served it had only bread ,2 chicken fillet barbecue sauce and side of chips . Really disappointing! never gonna come to this place and never recommending it to...
