PizzaExpress — Restaurant in England

My daughter and I had been looking forward to a meal at Pizza Express after a visit to Kendal for shopping - we live in a rural area of Cumbria. We booked a table and could not fault the food, wine or service at all. It all came crashing down when it was time to pay. A waiter who had not been attending to us duration our meal etc brought the card machine to the table and I popped in my card etc. I then inadvertently made a mistake with the tip..I meant to put in pounds but only put in pence...I didn't have my glasses and it was a genuine mistake and I was quite prepared to rectify this. The waiter became very aggressive and asked, incredulously and in a loud voice for the whole room to hear, if I had really meant to do this...I said no...he then demanded, again aggressively and in a loud voice, if I really wanted to leave a tip at all and by this time, I definately did not!! I politely told him so and he slammed my card and receipt onto the table and stomped off without so much as a thank you, see you again, etc. Our evening was totally spoilt and I will NEVER go to this Pizza Express again. I appreciate that he may have been under stress and feels aggrieved for any number of reasons...I work hard for my living and I don't expect people to pay me extra, especially when I haven't...

This local pizza joint may look small and unassuming from the outside, but they serve up piping hot, cheesy goodness with every slice! I've tried several pizzas on their menu and have never been disappointed.

The crust is perfectly crisp on the outside while still being soft and chewy inside. Their tomato sauce is seasoned just right with the perfect blend of herbs and spices. They don't skimp on the cheese either - loads of melted mozzarella on every bite. I'm also a fan of their wide variety of toppings from the classic pepperoni to more unique options like bbq chicken or Hawaiian pizza.

In addition to great pizza, the service here is top-notch. The staff is always friendly, attentive and quick with their food orders. They make everyone feel welcomed the moment they walk through the doors. It's the kind of place where the employees know the regulars by name.

The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions. It's great for feeding a crowd on game day or picking up a quick dinner on a weeknight.

Whether you dine-in or order for delivery, this pizza restaurant consistently provides delicious food, fast service and genuine hospitality. If you're in the area and craving an excellent pizza, this place cannot be beat. I highly...

Absolutely faultless

Emma, well where do I start. Instant welcome when you enter the restaurant. Quick to take your orders but also not pushy and gives you time. Only waitress on today but still continued to make us feel important. As soon as we ordered she straight aware made us aware of the app which saved us £11ish so that was fab.

Ordered our food and we had dough balls to share then we both had a American classic and wow, the flavour, taste, freshness was on point. Told Emma to make the female chef aware it was the best food in a pizza express we had ever been to!

Then towards the end of us finishing our mains I think the manager came onto the floor (think was doing interviews or something) and straight away was on board to help Emma out as started to get a bit busier.

Throughout all of this Emma stayed calm and collected, no stress, friendly and welcoming and just overall a lovely person!

She is an asset to your team, same as the chef you had on today!

Best food and atmosphereI have ever had in a pizza express before and the food was exceptional. Even writing this I don't feel is enough of a praise to how good our experience was!
