Quercus Bistro — Restaurant in England

I've eaten here several times and it's one of those places everyone should visit at least once. The food is exceptional, freshly made and cooked perfectly, and is pure art on a plate to boot. Having worked in kitchens for almost 2 decades myself, believe me when I say the kitchen team are incredibly talented and clearly have a real passion for food. The owners bring a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, are polite, professional but also friendly and warm. One of the servers, Katie, is an absolute rockstar, immediately makes us feel welcomed every time and super easy to talk to; it's always an absolute pleasure to have her taking care of our table. Group if 5 had a meal here last evening. Our first visit but definitely not the last! Food amazing and beautifully cooked and exactly as I ordered my sole was brought with sauce on the side! This may seem obvious If that’s what you ordered, but I can assure you it’s not! Thank you. Some if the party chose the chicken supreme. I had. Taste again absolutely delicious. The Manager and his young members of staff were lovely , Attentive, , natural and great asset. We got Katie’s name but the other young lady and man both deserve a special mention. I haven't seen a Scottish breakfast in this area before so I gave it a try, the Scottish components made a good change from the usual fry up, was very nice - scrambled eggs were overcooked though.

The breakfast stack was nice, lacked a nice runny egg though

Wild mushrooms had a good cook on them, nice flavours. Unfortunately the poached egg was basically hard boiled, quite disappointing as you expect it nice and runny.

Overall the food was above average, poor cooking on the eggs, if you're charging these prices then do the basics right.

Service was really good, very welcoming and friendly.

Decor and music was modern and spot on.

Will be back to try dinner...
