Rialto's — Restaurant in England

A poor experience although the food was lovely. My friend ordered cod only to be told after they had taken the order that they didn’t have any. Ideally we’d like to have known when we sat down but they may have just run out so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. She then ordered sea bass with a coriander sauce. When it arrived it was salsa minus any coriander. My friend pointed out that she was expecting a sauce as she loves coriander and the manager doubted her so I asked if we could see the menu. When he came back, he said there was an error on the menu; some menus said salsa and others sauce. He changed the dish, this time with some type of sauce but not coriander and a reduced portion size of sea bass …3 pieces instead of 4! I ordered steak fillet stroganoff but got chicken instead so decided to go with that rather than waiting for a replacement. He said he would do something with the bill, which he certainly did….no discount but a nice expensive bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape at £45 was added that we definitely didn’t have. When he took the bill away and brought it back, he’d knocked a whole £10 off. I don’t expect the meal for free but £10 wasn’t even the cost of the original dish I’d ordered. He did apologise but we thought that was a bit of a poor effort considering it wasn’t a particularly great experience. Shame really as it could have been nice but was ruined by the service. The waiting on staff were fairly pleasant but were unfortunately lacking in experience and training and came across as a bit uninterested. When we arrived, the place was completely empty. Which was a shame, as the food was genuinely great. I had a Carbonara and I loved it. The taste was great and we had a beer. Two good pasta's and 2 quite large beers for only €30 is great. I'm very positive about it, I hope it's usually busier!!

I feel like the boss should train his staff a little more behind the scenes and not intervene when they're helping customers. Two girls were helping us get seated and taking our orders and in between, 2 different men came to ask if they did alright and if we recieved what we asked for. Have some faith in your staff and don't interrupt, no reason for 4 different people to serve 2 people. Just let them do it with good training and trust them

The part in the back was quite nice to sit, it was comfy and the vibe was relaxed. I must say, the entrance looked more welcoming than the restaurant itself. It had warmer and nicer light, where the bar and front window looked cold and not so nice. I'd change the cold blue led lights to like purple or something or just make it seem a bit more welcoming and warm

The menu was extremely extensive and I don't know if that is needed. Maybe it is if it's usually busy but ofcourse I don't know about that. It was quite a lot to choose from

The nosiest place I have ever been in , someone having a birthday meal and their kids were being allowed to run about in and out the back door like it was a nursery, screaming outside and inside. Which is not helped by the decor which has office blinds and low ceiling so nothing to help dampen any noise that went on for an hour until I left. Not the atmosphere you expect when going out for a meal.i asked for Diet Coke got full sugar, Ribeye steak was not cooked well. I ordered 3 portions of chips and got one plate of wedges. They had offered wedges and I said no chips please ! kids not impressed. They wanted chips. The spaghetti bolognaise had loads of diced carrots in it again kids not impressed. But the place is so noisy I couldn’t hear myself think. I asked if they could put some background music on, thinking it would help drown out the noise but that did not happen or if it did it could not be heard over the noise We were sat beside a faulty electrical light fitting that looked like once was in a lamp but it was still connected but just lying on shelf! Not a great look and not safe.This was not a fun time. Then the owner is talking so loudly to a table next to us , I could hear his whole conversation. I’m glad I didn’t order starters or desserts as I could not get out of the place fast enough.
