S&S Kitchen — Restaurant in England

Good things come to those who wait! On Saturday evening my wife and I popped in for a sit down meal. We had not booked and the restaurant appeared to be two thirds full but we were lucky to get a table for two. We were served by two friendly waitresses and ordered a bottle of white New Zealand Marlborough wine which was lovely and chilled. Our starters were calamari and jerk chicken wings, our mains were Carribbean chicken curry and Ox tail both with rice and peas together with Plantain and coleslaw.. All food arrived hot and perfectly cooked. It was apparent that the restaurant was busy and there were only two waitresses who did there best, but of course there was a faorly long waIt for the food. However there is always a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and customers were happy enjoying the bright Carribbean decor and reggae music. Its lovely to walk into a place like this to take your mind off the world outside, and even two small boys with their Mum, Dad and Grand parents were on the next table wearing Carribbean shirts and fitting in with the theme.

If you visit this restaurant always give your self time, don't be in a rush, drink a Red Stripe or a Carribbean cocktail be happy and wait for your lovely cooked meal like we did and the evening will turn out just...

Never in my life have I experienced such bad service. I traveled an hour to celebrate my son's birthday with my family at this restaurant. We had a table booked for half 8. Only half the table was seated and we had to wait another hour for the rest of our party to be seated.

We waited over an hour and a half for drinks (including water for the kids). I witnessed the owner offer another frustrated customer out the back after a heated argument in the restaurant. There was 1 waitress and 1 bar person serving a fully booked restaurant (that's not including the 2 friends who were in town for a night out, who they called in to help)

We saw at least 5 delivery drivers be turned away. The owner told us she'll be with us in 5 minutes about 10 times. Then to top it off, when we finally got our food, all of the kids food came out wrong!!! Thanks for ruining my son's birthday meal. I DO...

This will be the last time I order food from this venue! Its visibly obvious that since the restaurant has opened things have gone down hill drastically. I understand that the dynamics have changed between a van and a restaurant, but the food quality has taken a turn for the worse. I can't count the amount of second chances given to get things right with our next order, and I don't have the patience to ring once again and explain why the food was not to an acceptable standard. We've gone from 2 orders a week, every week to once a month, and this is the final straw. You can't hoist prices up, and lower food quality, there is no excuses for consistent poor service.
