Vegan review: Love this place so much, can’t recommend it enough! Had a great experience from start to finish, the staff were lovely and service was great. The decor was intriguing, so much to see and the vintage theme carried really well throughout the whole place stretching as far as the staff uniforms! I ordered a smoked tofu salad which was lovely, a chai tea and a lemon blueberry cake. I was so impressed that there were about 7 vegan desserts to choose from! I took a chocolate flapjack home. All the food was delicious! There were games on each table including playing cards, dominoes, yes/no and lexicon. There were also travel guides including the local and surrounding area. Went in for the second time under new owners and have been going here for several years. The settee in the downstairs room so out of keeping with the war years.The service was rubbish by the young girl in a bright pink Scarlett's polo shirt which is not very vintage looking. Cappuccino at 3.80 is as dear as a over priced coffee shop coffee . For two hot drinks and two small Blondie's it was very over priced at over 16 quid.Its such a shame it has changed hands for the worse.The coffee used to be served in vintage cups and saucers and staff before were much friendlier and the tables were very slow being cleared.definitelyshop around at other independent tearooms in Knaresborough...

Stumbled across this place on a day trip to Knaresborough. A fantastic little tea room (although not 'too' little, as they have space upstairs as well) and so good to see so many well thought-out vegan options on the menu. I had soup, a sandwich and salad, and all were thoroughly enjoyable. Didn't try the cakes but they all looked great too, and I overheard very positive things about them from other customers. Staff were great and the owner was very friendly and welcoming - had a good chat with her about the cafe and she clearly takes a huge amount of care and attention in making it as good as it can be.
