Dirty, slow and expensive.
We asked for the table to be cleared when we arrived but nothing after 10 mins so I cleaned it myself then asked that someone come clean the table. Nobody came. The floor was full of litter and the tables were left dirty despite it not being very busy.
The food was incredibly overpriced for what it was, especially the kids food - £2:30 for a quarter of a tin of cheap beans and a slice of toast.
No butter on hot beef an onion sandwich and no butter on the jacket potato's which were served cold.
Maybe we came on the wrong day because the reviews seem good but for an extra tenner or so we could have eaten in a restaurant. £40 for 2 jacket spuds with tuna, 2 bowls of soup, 1 beef and onion sandwich, kids ham and cheese sandwich, kids beans on toast and 3 coffees seems excessive but I suppose older folk in Beverley have money to burn which is why it's probably so busy. It's not an option for a young family...
Read moreAvoid! This is the second time in a matter of weeks that we decided to have lunch here. The first time the staff were turning customers away as they had run out of food which was surprising given it was only lunchtime. We decided to try again today and really wish I hadn’t bothered. After an almost 30 minute wait in the queue I was told there were no jacket potatoes, no main meals, and no sausages or bacon for the cooked breakfast. I ended up ordering two cheese toasties and beans on toast. The food was average (if that!) and expensive for what it was. There were three of us but only two forks left in the cutlery tray so my son went without. All in all a disappointing lunch, which was meant as a treat for the kids. Honestly wish I had gone elsewhere, the only reason we stayed is that my daughter was tired and hungry … we won’t...
Read moreI wish they offered more healthy vegetable options as sugar free meats, better salads with darker greens and sprouts, and alternatives to the grains and wheat, such as lightly sautéed Khale or spinach or roasted tomatoes. Even raw tomato slices or a side salad option to replace the toast or bread with the eggs would win my business. I have no clue why the women on site refuse to let you sub as they clearly offer side salads with other items. This place offers no garden quality produce and is more like a 1950s diner with bad oils, corn syrup and sugar in everything, and processed meats. Luckily Caluccio’s right down the street offers great veggie options with...
