Speaking on behalf of my mum (who canât access this site) We must say a big THANK YOU to everyone who works and runs the kings head Beverley. What a great place! Every single one of you made our Motherâs Day experience amazing. I shall be naming each person individually as they deserve their own acknowledgment and recognition of how great they made our evening. Thank you once again.
The chefs are fantastic at what they do. The food was piping hot and incredible. So delicious!! We highly recommend.
The steak in which Juan made my mum, was one of the best steak sheâs tasted. Freshly made to her requirements. Substantial portions and made so succulent! Amazing. Thank you Juan.
Danny made the most scrumptious and delicious sticky toffee pudding. The caramel sauce drizzle, along with the ice cream placed on top melting into the sponge was simply the most mouth watering pudding I've ever had. Thank you Danny.
Callum, the small plates were just so filling! I highly recommend the halloumi fries and beef tacos. Wow!!! Thank you Callum! Such a great place for a meal.
We were welcomed by such warm and friendly staff members. Lottie made sure we had a memorable experience and couldnât do enough for us! Sheâs so unbelievably kind, polite and just full of joy. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. My mum said it has been the friendliest pub & restaurant she has ever visited. Thank you Lottie for giving my mum such a great experience within the kings head.
Alex (to whom my mum thought was adorable) was so friendly and attended to our every need. He was so chatty and engaging. He often checked back on us to see how we were doing and just gave the place a bouncy and full of life atmosphere. A great asset to the team. Thank you again Alex.
Nicky was fantastic at taking our orders and checking if we needed any special dietary requirements. She was so happy to be at our table taking our order and just made our experience that even more of a happy one. She made sure our food was brought out promptly and hot. Nicky even went the extra mile and asked if we would like our Proseccos turning into delicious Bellinis and added a tasty strawberry conserve to our drinks. Her laughter was infectious as she engaged friendly conversation with us. Thank you Nicky for being so attentive and lovely.
Anna on the bar made some awesome cocktails! We were super impressed with her skills. Every drink we ordered and drank tasted spot on and no request was too demanding for her. She was fabulous at recommending what drinks we should try out and also which drinks would complement our meal. Thank you Anna. You are superb!
All in all, the kings head Beverley was an outstanding experience and a great place to visit whenever we are in...
Read moreI was asked by the lovely staff to leave an honest review so here goesâŠ.the first issue is the car park. On arrival there were no spaces in the car park as it has approximately 10 spaces which were mostly taken up by staffâŠthere is another car park just around the corner but that is pay and display. I went to reception to say we were checking in and there was nowhere to park and Alex straight away offered to move his car, which was very good. Unfortunately that then left us with the issue of what do we do if we go out in our car for the day and come back to no space again. We decided we would stay local for the few days we were there to avoid struggling to get a space in the car park. Check in was simple and we were shown to our room which was the Lionheart RoomâŠ.now when I was booking this hotel there was no indication of how many rooms there are, where they are in relation to the back or front of the hotel which would dictate whether your view was the market square of the view we got which was of a messy roof with an empty silicone tube on it. We get to our room and on initial glance the room is lovely apart from the location of the TVâŠ.it was on the wall to the side of the bed. Apparently this is because the unique selling point of the bath meant there was nowhere for the TV to go so it went on that wall which is just a bad decision. That issue could be resolved simply by putting the TV on a swivel bracket. On closer inspection the rooms are looking tired and bit dirty, if you decide to look out of the windows you will see the frames are very dirty and in need of repairing or replacing. The were splashes on the walls, bleach marks on the carpets and missing paint where plugs had been replaced. Iâm sure when the hotel was initially refurbished it was lovely but itâs almost past its best sadly. Issue three is although I booked bed and breakfast through booking.com when we arrived we were told breakfast isnât included and if you want it you can just go to the restaurant and pay as you go. The breakfast is too expensive and it doesnât include orange juice or a tea or coffee which makes it quite expensive. We were not the only guests that were not happy with the overall cost of breakfast. The staff were all brilliant, very friendly and helpful and they made our stay lovelyâŠ.especially Lucy A, LucyJo,Kora,Ellen,Alex C,Aiden,Kieran and Alex C. Our trip was for our wedding anniversary and we had a meal in the restaurant that nightâŠthe sent out a dessert with Happy anniversary on it was was very kind of them. We had a lovely few days in Beverley and met some lovely people at The Kings Head and...
Read moreAn absolute beautiful pub, clean well maintained and nicely decorated. When we walked into this pub we expected a very high quality of food and service. I just got a feeling of this looks a high standards.
It was a busy pub with lots of people chatting and the atmosphere was nice and friendly. We picked a table and sat down to look at the menu.
I wanted fish and chips and my other half wanted southern fried chicken burger. So knowing what we wanted I went to the bar to order the food and some drinks.
I was greeted by a friendly young lady who took My order and table number. I went back to the table and we chatted over a drink waiting for our food. After about 20 minutes the food came My fish looked over cooked and tasted dry, the mushy peas again looked over done. The chunky chips were good and the tartar sauce was really nice. As I moved the fish I could see French fries mixed in with the chips. This was obviously fries from a previously cooked order as the fries looked like they had been cooked multiple times and the fryer basket not emptied fully. My meal was a real let down. My partners meal was not much better. The onion rings looked awful and were not even warm, her fries again not even warm. The southern fried gravy looked like water and again was not warm let alone hot. The chicken burger was she said ok apart from the bbq sauce over the top of the bread bun.
Whilst eating we did not at any point have a member of staff check up on us or our order which I was really surprised at it literally was a case of order eat then staff just collect plates. When a member of staff did ask âhave you guys finished?â There were not was the meal ok? Did you enjoy your meal? Nothing!! I informed the member of staff that the meal was not acceptable and informed him of all the issues we had. His response was simply âlâm sorry to hear that Iâll pass it onto the chefâ then walked away.
This is a stunning and beautiful pub in the heart of a beautiful little town and could be an absolute treasure. Sadly from my experience here today I donât think I would want to spend my money (ÂŁ45.48 I believe I paid) here.
Please who ever reads this review on walking into your pub I thought was going to be amazing. Sadly your staffs service and the food has...
