This survey has a bad selection of options.
Because I came at 11.30 and stayed until 4pm, I didnt' stay "before 12pm" nor did I stay neatly into one of the options you give. Better to ask "when did you arrive" and another question "when did you leave?".
Also I selected Other because the "what did you order" should be multiple-choice with more than one option able to be chosen IMHO as I had a Breakfast AND a (large) lunch as well as 4 pints of shandy.
The place is lovely and the only negative is that they should wipe tables more often since many tables still had food debris on them when other customers arrived including my own.
Also I asked the staff if they had plug sockets to power my laptops so I could sit and work without fear of my battery dying. I received a disappointing shrug from every one of the 3 staff that were stood (not cleaning tables or anything else) until I turned around and pointed underneath a table at the plug I had spotted. I had to choose the one slightly awkward spot due to the apparent belief that there was very limited power outlets.
Imagine my surprise when my partner arrived to watch our puppy, when I found there was an ABUNDANCE of power outlets!
This is a case of the staff not being caring enough about quality of service. They are all lovely people so I feel this is a training issue as the girls serving were incredibly nice and I couldn't say a bad word about them.
Perhaps have a rota that every 10 minutes, someone must go and wipe down tables?
You will also lose custom from remote workers who are (incorrectly) informed about things. Such a shame as this establishment is exceptional and I intend to have at least 1 day a week working from the Green Dragon despite it being a £20 taxi ride away. This is because it is dog friendly, excellent value for money, tasty food and has amazing staff.
Oh and a shame about no deserts! Not even ice cream :-( Lucky there was a M&S around the corner.
However I would strongly recommend this pub to anyone who wants to have a nice coffee and...
Read moreWent for lunch, menu states triple cooked chips, I asked the barmaid ‘are these proper home cooked chips?’ Was told yes! Food came, chips were cooked from frozen, nothing homemade about them, when I asked the same girl were these frozen chips she again stated they weren’t, I sat in amazement that she would blatantly lie, a different member of staff came to clear the plates, again I questioned the chip situation and she openly told me yes they come in a bag frozen but the bag says they are triple cooked, I have no clue how they were as they were just basic Wetherspoon style rubbish, as the rest of the food. An alright pub for drinks, but unless ur drunk wouldn’t bother with the food, shame Cos used to be a good place for food. Especially sausages! Surroundings are nice just shame staff lie and menu deceives bad customer service ;
In reply to your reply; if you read my review you would read that I ASKED THE BARMAID if they were proper home cooked chips?! I am myself a chef! I am pretty sure anyone would know what a PROPER HOME COOKED CHIP is! One made from a real fresh potato, not frozen from a bag! Triple cooked chips should be cooked THREE TIMES! These chips were originally frozen and barely cooked! I find it very hard to believe that you yourself especially whilst working in the food industry would not know what a proper home cooked chip is and ur just being pedantic about the situation. 🙄More...
Read moreA group of us visited the Green dragon in Beverly on Thursday 7th September. We was accompanying a groom on his last night before the big day. There was I’d say about 15-20 of us and we had all ordered a drink from the bar. Some people stood and talked, some sat, and some played on the bandit. No one was over intoxicated due to the following days events but there was a good atmosphere. 1 tray of around 20 shots were order for everyone to have one each. After being their for about 45 minutes as a group and exchanging a significant amount of money over the bar, we was then told that we would no longer be served by the young looking but rather hairy member of bar staff that had NO manners and no idea to address people. This was extremely frustrating as it wasn’t overly late. As a group we was told we weren’t being served as we’re too “lively”. If I had asked people to leave the pub when they were “lively”, the pub have no customers. Very disappointed and it spoiled the night. Just a note for those thinking to visit in large groups. Sit in silence and you might get more than one pint.
Edit Responding to the reply to this review. I can honestly say I’m shocked. This was honestly not our group. No one was intoxicated and at no point did anyone vandalise any of the pubs property especially as I have a photo of the pub with hanging baskets in tact ,nor did the staff receive any verbal or...
