Amazing meal Fantastic service Extremely welcoming We went to eat here last night and we were definitely not disappointed. My husband and I are on holiday in Skipton and so asked a local taxi driver for a recommendation and so pleased we did. From walking into the restaurant to leaving we could not have asked for a better experience. The staff were welcoming and polite, the ambience was lovely. Tables nicely spaced and everywhere very clean. Our first Indian restaurant visit since lockdown and we must start eating out again. The food was superb from the excellent popadmons and spice tray for starters to the mains, Onion Bhajis with salad and not pokey little bhajis either, Lamb Bhuna, melt in the mouth lamb, king prawn special dish, No over cooked king prawns here, pashwari naan, amazing naan not hard and stale, just soft and light as was the chipati, mushroom pilau the best we have had for years. We had such a good night. Please support Ali and his staff in these hard times. I can highly recommended this restaurant and it deserves all the good...
Read moreHaving not booked anything and forgetting it was bank holiday we struggled to get in to two places on the main Street. We decided to try this little place. Staff were very friendly and tolerant of the irritating drunk man on the next table. We were hungry. We got a mixed starter for two, fish pakora and fish garlic and lemon. It took forty five mins from sitting down to get food but the starters were lovely. So flavourful. For mains we got a king prawn begun and the Skipton balti special. Both were so rich and flavourful. Definitely needed more prawns in the begun. The rice's were nice and the naan was very tasty. Although we ordered a garlic and got a plain. The one star is lost for the waiting times. I understand that they had a trainee chef on which is great but maybe a little warning beforehand. The prices are very competitive too. Would...
Read moreUpdate 10th Aug 2020: Wow, wow, wow. Having ruled out returning to a few Indian restaurants recently due to samey samey food (seemingly similar dishes no matter what you order) I was wonderfully and happily surprised to eat at the Skipton Balti once again - so much better than any other Indian restaurant I've eaten at in recent memory. Everything I ordered - Mushroom Madras, Lemon Rice, and fresh handmade Aloo Naan was 10/10. I look forward to eating here again. Many thanks for standing out and being a shining beacon of how an Indian restaurant in the UK should be!!! P.s. The music being played reminded me of when I was in the South of India many years ago 👌🏻👍🏻👌🏻
2 years ago: Tasty. Good, friendly service. Provide what you actually order rather than fobbing you off with something they've already made earlier in a batch for another customer. Highly...
