Sundaes Gelato Bedford — Restaurant in England

Rude customer service which is a shame as they have really nice desserts…my son asked for gelato dessert with marshmallows but unfortunately the one they sell is with strawberry flavoured scoop and my son doesn’t like it. I asked if we could change it for mango (this was never an issue in the past and my family is coming here since the opening) lady behind counter asked her colleague and said that it is not possible when I asked why she just repeated that it is not possible. Later I asked for an explanation and i was told that the wages are calculated of the desserts ordered…I said it doesn’t make any sense…than I was told that the price of different flavours is different and that they make mango flavour differently and is more expensive so I pointed out that you pay 3£ per scoop no matter the flavour so last thing I have heard was “this is the rule and I work here for two years” like that supposed to explain anything…very...

This was the worst food and service I have ever had. We ordered the English breakfast which comes with hash browns. This took around half an hour to arrive, and when it arrived it came with sausages instead of hash browns. I asked the waiter where the hash browns were and he said they had none left so they supplemented it with sausages. We are not vegetarians but if we were, this would be hugely concerning. Common courtesy would be to tell us this. The sausages itself were from a tin and tasted awful.The toast was not toasted, or even buttered. We asked for butter & they said they didn’t have any! The eggs were over cooked and rubbery. We also found a fly in our drink. Needless to say, we barely touched our food. The waiter knew there was an issue but didn’t bother coming over to ask. Disgusting food, service and hygiene....

The food and drinks were delicious, the staff themselves were courteous and friendly, 5/5 on those points.

However the problem was near the end of our stay, some scruffy looking man (we believe he was the owner) just shambled in and started ordering staff members about (no pleases or thank yous, just NOW). He then disappeared for several minutes, and when he returned he put YouTube Music on the television with multiple songs that were uncensored with mature content & swear words, there were several children inside the shop at the time that could obviously hear it.
