Alright, so two of my friends (a male and a female) and I visited Cornwall around 3 weeks ago and stayed in a beautiful house in St. Austell. Everything seemed hunky-dory for us until we made the horrendous decision to have dinner at 'Taste of INDIA'. We reached this place at around 10:50 PM and were hungry like anything. As soon as we sat at the table, the only waiter there asked us to order in the next five minutes as that would have been their last order of the day. As was asked of us, we ordered one main dish, one side dish, breads and papadams in the next few minutes. We were served with papadams and while we were having them and were waiting for the rest of our order, the waiter along with the manager came and said that we'd need to order one more main dish because (wait for it...) our existing order won't cover their hotel property expenses like rent, utilities etc!!! Silly and confusing right?
People who have lived here in UK can understand that a main and a side Indian cuisine are most of the times enough for a group of 3.
Now after hearing that comment, we, very politely asked the manager and the waiter that this is something we always order in our respective residential areas in the UK and whichever place we've visited in the past like Brighton, Snowdonia, Swindon, London etc. (I've been living here for 3 months and my friends for more than 2 years).
After continuously arguing about the extra dish, the manager asked us to leave if we don't surrender to his request. And people, yes we were still having our papadams at the moment. The waiter asked us and I quote 'How long you've been living here in the UK' and without waiting for us to respond, he added and I quote 'I've been here for like 34 years now and you know, Asian people like you always cause problems, this would not have happened in case Britishers were here in your place'. On top off all, he concluded with saying that 'some of the most prestigious restaurants / cafes (I won't name them) in Corwall don't even allow Asian people inside their premises giving the rationale as the'y are full i.e. no more seats available'. I honestly don't know why he added this last bit. I just hate this to be true but more than that I hated the attitude of someone who migrated to this country 34 years back and have neither respect nor dignity towards another person who in fact, is also his customer who will pay him for his pathetic services (in fact we did pay for the papadams after all of this).
Well, at this moment, we've had it and left our papadams as they were. We wanted to mention something to that manager and the waiter there but couldn't because things would have easily accelerated if we wouldn't have left immediately but I'd like to express here that I've never experienced such ill-behavior in any decent restaurant I've been to in the UK so far. Indians (which these two were definitely NOT) treat food, be it having or serving, as an act of pleasure. It was a pathetic experience and I hope people see the true picture through this review, not via their own visit.

CAUTION! On Saturday night I ordered a takeaway at 6.00 pm it said it would be delivered by 7.27, I thought that was a long wait but as it was a special occasion, and I thought its Saturday night thats fair enough. My takeaway still hadn't arrived by 7.45pm so I called to find out where it was. I was told it hadn't even been started yet and that it would be another 15-20 minutes! At 8.30pm it still hadn't arrived so I called for a refund. I was told by the girl on the phone that its "crazy here" "everyone is loosing their heads!". She also told me that she had worked at the premises for 2 days and did not know how to process a online refund! I then got passed to a guy that told me I would have my refund processed by the end of the night as he was too busy to do it for me instantly. I still have not received a refund or any confirmation of a refund and my emails and calls have been ignored.
