I have been coming to this location for years now ever since I was a kid, and I am ashamed to say how the mighty have fallen. What happened with the great atmospheric TGI’s of yesteryear? Going back either 10 or 15 years ago and you could never get to the bar, Now, if anything you can run round it with a clear path. I feel that the food is quite expensive for what you get these days, saying that, it is edible at least. I’ve given the food five stars because I don’t believe that is the problem. They are never normally busy now, which is sad to see but you’d think that the service would be even better as a result, but it is not, if anything is the opposite and we used to be served better when they was three deep in the restaurant alone. Barely any staff working. Except for my pal Roy, who me and my family have got to know over the years and a few others who were great but not as fast as usual What I’m trying to say is, I feel that this is a chain which is sadly no more and should just hang up their belt while they can and accept a great long legacy they’ve created rather than running it into something out of desperation that it can’t be anymore. I for one feel, that only way to inject life into this Iconic building (which I love itself) would be, if it was no longer associated with the TGI’s brand. Keep the American theme by all means, but it would need to be an independent diner. Then, just one of a kind location might actually get some custom through the door. Thank you

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been coming to this TGI Fridays at Lakeside Retail Park for around 20 years now, and I’ve always had a soft spot for it. TGI’s has been a longtime favourite of mine, and this location in particular has always delivered when it comes to the food. The classics still hit the same — the Jack Daniel’s ribs, sesame chicken strips, fajitas, and boneless wings are just as tasty as ever. The chocolate fudge fixation and the s’mores sundae are always a must and never disappoint. When it comes to the food itself, they’ve stayed true to what made TGI’s so popular in the first place. That said, the overall experience just isn’t what it used to be. The place is starting to feel a bit tired and worn out. Tables were a little sticky, and the whole space could do with a deep clean and a refresh. It also seemed quite understaffed — service wasn’t bad, but it felt stretched and lacking the upbeat energy TGI’s is known for. Still love TGI Fridays as a brand, and I’d hate to see this location fade away, but it definitely needs some attention and investment — especially with another TGI’s just across the road at Lakeside Quay. Food is still great, but service, cleanliness, and atmosphere are just ok now. Prices are also creeping up, which makes the drop in overall experience more noticeable. Really hope this spot gets the love it deserves — it’s been a go-to for so many years.

If I could give no stars, I would! We waited at the bar and watched our table get cleaned and set up for 15 minutes. The waiter swept under the table around us and then gave us cutlery. 40 minutes in to our original booked time our orders are being taken in a mix match order starting at one end of the table, then the other end and then the middle. Amongst the orders where starters and mains, whereby 4 burgers where requested; 3 with no tomatoes, onions and pickles and the other one with no tomatoes and pickles. Just over an hour in to our original booking and we recieve our starters. Prawns came out on a hot plate but were stone cold, we accepted the request for some tea plates for the kids that were sharing starters but they never arrived so we had to use napkins for them instead. 1.5 hours in we recieve our main course. All the burgers came out wrong, and were very quickly sent back. Not only was the burgers wrong but all the chips on majority of the dishes were cold. All empty glasses were replenished by the manager (they were all bottomless soft drinks), at which point the manager set them down in front of my partner and said 'just in case.' All finished eating our disappointing meals and then the replacement chips came out. Shortly after, the waiter (that we hadn't seen in a while as the manager took over our service for a little while), asked to clear the table. Taking my board (from the ribs) last, they leaned over my step son in a high chair to get a tea plate and hit my step son on the head with the board. This was an obvious accident and luckily was only a light tap and my step son is quite robust but was the icing on the cake at this point. Manager arrived and sat next to me and asked if we could talk here or away from the table. We spoke where it was mentioned, for what seemed as an excuse for a poor service, that he was put at this branch 2 weeks ago to try and improve service and majority of the staff were new for that reason too. The reason the table wasn't ready in time was because there was an overrun large party that our waiter had prior and our waiter had only started a week ago, same as the front of house staff, also given as an excuse as to why the allergy question wasn't asked. I made the following suggestions to the manager at that point; have the allergy question asked at front of house, don't allow new staff members sole responsibility of large parties, allow them to shadow and assist more experienced members of staff first to gain confidence and make sure the kitchen are actually reading the orders and the food is quality checked before leaving the kitchen. The manager asked if we were here for a special occasion, I advised a family reunion and belated birthday celebrations where it was offered to have cake on the house but we have already bought a chocolate cake with us to the occasion. He said that will go a get it and make a big deal for the birthday boy. The 'big deal' was a TGi birthday song that we had already witnessed twice for other families. Cake out the way we are very quickly sorting out of the bill where around us we are seeing similar complaints around the restaurant of cold food, early bill requests and unhappy about the service. This experience was truly disappointing, our local TGIs we use has never been like this and I think it is fair to say that I will never be returning to this branch again on the business park of Lakeside. Its evident, not just to the removal of meals and discounts given for our experience on the bill, but from the other families around us that a lot of money was...

First and probably last time at TGI Fridays. Went for a date night with my fiancé last Friday night, he said he loved this place as a child so thought “why not?” Well, we were really wrong.

A lot of the food/ drinks are overpriced for what they are/ what you get, and the 2 for 1 cocktails are a complete scam as if you don’t read the small print, you can only get the 2 for 1 if they are the same alcoholic drink, and not two different ones, however, TGI servers weren’t telling people this so people were getting scammed.

Booking was at 8, but said there wasn’t a table, understandable as we were early and there was a lot of people in, so we were told to wait at the bar and we would get called over when a table is free, at the bar, we saw at least 3 other couples come through the front doors, and in minutes sat at a table and not us, by now it’s 8:10 so we asked again then we got a table.

Waitress was lovely, but all the severs including her was either not doing anything, or, running round like a headless chicken.

We ordered our starters but wanted to order mains after we were done, ended up waiting over an HOUR for our mains, my chicken fingers and sweet potato chips were so bland chicken McNuggets have more flavour, and my partner got a steak, half of it was fat so he couldn’t eat half, AND parts inside looked pink like ham (luckily not sick from this) when we got our mains, it was close to half 9 and the place closes at 10:30, last calls 10, so we quickly wanted to order the sharing dessert platter to hopefully make the night better, only to be told they were out of what my partner wanted on the platter. We thought there was no point at this point, and should’ve left after starters to get a maccies, yes I’m comparing it to McDonald’s.

Wish we got money off what we paid overall as it feels like we were ignored and/ or forgotten about, not just from our waitress but from every staff that came across.. unfortunate as the place overall is so cool, and we really wanted to have them desserts, don’t think we’re coming back anytime soon. £70 not worth it, go to Frankie’s...
