Lovely restaurant, nice and clean. Unfortunately thatās the only good thing I can say. Saw an advert saying Ā£2.99 with a picture of a burger and a drink as a special offer. Great deal I thought, letās give it a try. We went in, ordered on the electronic screen (like in McDonalds). My some and I both had the Ā£2.99 deal but he had a side of lattice fries, I added onion and tomato to my toasted ham and cheese sandwich. The bill came to Ā£15! I then queued up to query the price and the man said smiling, the advert is not clear, everyone thinks that. Itās Ā£2.99 for a burger when you pay full price for a medium drink (Ā£2.89 for a tea). Ok fine, first time trying the place, letās hope the food is good. The burger was ok, although not very hot and certainly nothing to warrant the premium price over say McDonalds. The toasted sandwich was missing the onion and tomato. It also wasnāt sliced⦠so you end up with a piping hot mess of melted cheese trying to tear apart with your bare fingers and burning yourself. There is no cutlery for cutting. The tea was given to me, I asked if there was milk and the guy said yes and handed it to me. I took the lid off and it was black, you want more milk? Yes please, it came back with a drop in, eventually the guy just handed me another cup with some milk in. All in all, not good value, not good food, not good service. But a nice restaurant, which it should be for how long itās been open. No doubt it will do well on busy days, but I doubt anyone will be going out their way...
Read moreWent for breakfast as it seems cheaper than McDonald's. The breakfast muffin is light but the flavour is lacking, maybe there is not enough butter, it definitely tastes and feels healthier, at £3.79 you can't complain when it comes with a free Hash brown and a drink. The breakfast wrap is also good, since mcdonalds don't do the wrap anymore. It comes with Hash brown in the wrap and on the side for £3.79 which is 20p cheaper than buying it alone. So the meal deal at breakfast is worth it!
Had the pancakes with bacon, bacon was smoky and the syrup was flavoured with maple, it is the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had and utterly divine. The breakfast bagel was chewy with Chipotle sauce was the highlight. All the meals costed £3.79, enough for breakfast but if you go at 10.30am for brunch I suggest you get 2 meals, pancakes and bagels.
I would definitely go again, for value for money in terms of the meals, considering coffee by itself is £3+ service is a bit slow, but it is busy so it is expected.
EDIT Tried the food again and this time the bagel was cold so a bit disappointed, I downgraded to 4 stars. Bought the donuts and the chocolate frosting tastes artificial, like krispy creme, not much to rave about
Tried their dinner menu, was very expensive compared to you mcd and KFC and not much different. The lattice fries were nice. That's about it. Wouldn't go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt looked quite busy when we went in but there were computer terminals free to order with nobody on the manual tills.
However after 3 attempts on 2 different self service units we received a 007 error message. Looking round I saw no sign of James Bond or MI5.
Managed to grab a member of staff to ask permission to use an actual person on a till as I was getting error messages.
Following a difficult conversation with the lady on the till due to her accent and the loud music and noise from the kitchen we had over a 25 minute wait for our food!
25 minutesā¦. I thought this was supposed to be fast food?
The screen showing which orders were ready for collection wasnāt showing any orders for collection and the orders that were being prepared were just disappearing! So 5-10 mins before my order was ready it had disappeared off the screen.
The food was ok. I wouldnāt rush there for a cheese and ham toastie (melt) over Starbucks or costa if Iām honest. The bacon cheeseburger was so overloaded with mustard it was quite overpowering and really spoilt the burger for me.
Also their offering of a kids meal appeared to be 3 crayons and a folded piece of paper or pamphlet to colour in.
Tim Hortons always seem to be posting about being in competition with McDonaldās but theyāve got a way to go!
Not to mention the fact you only get 1 dip free with a meal and have to pay...
