We had my son's 7th birthday party at Immersive Gamebox, Lakeside and the children absolutely loved it! We had the Level 2 Birthday Experience on a Sunday afternoon at 1pm. There were 8 children in total and they split them into 2 rooms where they played games for a full hour. Then we went into a converted, decorated game room for the birthday meal - we bought pizza from Pizza Express. They also had cake, which we brought, and other bits. Great experience all round! Oh and the gift bags are not bad at all! The kids looooved the party blowers. Not sure how the rest of Lakeside felt about them though! The staff were amazing. Helpful, polite and just generally brilliant. The venue was clean and lovely. Afterwards, they send you gifs of the guests playing the games. This was a great touch to round the party off as I could just send them to the attendees as part of a thank-you message.
Tiny bits to watch out for: communication with the venue is via voicemail service. You leave a voicemail and they call you back. I struggled with this as you never know when you'll get the call back. the birthday party room is snug. We fit 8 kids in but any more and we would have struggled. They might have a bigger room though, I don't know, so best to ask. they can't have birthday candles or sparklers at the venue so we just had him make a wish and blow some bubbles out of a bubble bottle. He loved it and it was quite cute. The staff did mention that some people take the cake outside to blow candles but it was a huge cake and it's quite busy outside so that didn't quite work for me. if you have adults not playing but chaperoning kids, they do have a seating area which can fit about 7 adults, maybe a bit more. There are lots of bars and places to relax around though so you can send the adults off while the kids do...

We recently visited Immersive Gamebox as a family of four to play the Ghostbusters game, and it was an incredible experience! The game offered a perfect blend of physical challenges and mental puzzles, keeping all of us fully engaged for the entire session.
The interactive gameplay was fast-paced and immersive, with just the right amount of challenge to keep things exciting without feeling overwhelming. Everyone had a role to play, whether it was solving clues, completing mini-games, or working together to trap ghosts.
The technology was seamless, the graphics were vibrant, and the storyline was captivating—whether you’re a Ghostbusters fan or not, it’s easy to get swept up in the adventure. The staff were friendly and helpful, giving us a quick tutorial beforehand to make sure we got the most out of the session.
Overall, it was a great mix of laughter, excitement, and problem-solving. We left buzzing about how much fun we had. Highly recommend Immersive Gamebox for families or groups looking for a unique and entertaining activity! Can’t wait to try another...
Read moreMe and my partner have gone here twice for a date. The first game we played was Squid Game and then the second game we played recently was Escape Ai. Out of the two games we played we both thought Squid game was more interactive and more fun. When you arrive you have to put your belongings in a locked locker, otherwise it can affect the game play when you are playing. Then you are given a room to play in and the space is spacious.
The only reason that I gave it a 4 star rather than 5 is, because I order a drink halfway through the game and they had to ID check me. I wish they had checked my ID beforehand as we were on the top floor and I had to get my bag out from the locker to show them that I was over 18. I didn’t think I needed a drink beforehand to be fair, but you do get quite active lol. And another reason would be I wish the Ai game gave us more time to figure stuff out. Like the maze section where you have to figure out how to capture the Ai person.
Overall I would recommend going me and my partner did have fun both times and we do want to go again, but with...
