Went today for lunch 03/08/2020. Went in at 13:00 to be told that they shut at 14:00. The waiter was very abrupt when telling us. We sat and ordered our food but when it came my partners Prawn Noodles came without Noodles. We asked where the noodles were and the waiter said that was extra! Haha. My partner tried a few bites of what she was given with my rice but it was too hot. We asked for the menu again and when checking and asking him what we ordered he'd wrote down the correct order but gave the chef the wrong order..... When the waiter gave my partner the correct meal he said that we could have original meal she was given free of charge!!! Haha. I told him he could take it as it wouldn't get eaten. He just left it....
Whilst sitting there I saw two couples pay but was denied the 50% off deal as they were only doing it in the evening. Another couple were about to leave and the waiter didn't take the government agreed 50% off up to £10 each person. I piped up as this was an all day thing from Monday to Wednesday in August and not for them to pick and choose when this happened. The couple paid £30 and got £20 off their bill. When I went to pay yet again the waiter tried to make us pay full. I polity refused and the waiter eventually knocked off the 50% but for only the food. As we'd only had soft drinks I said that the 50% was off the drinks as well. The waiter said the manager said food only. I then pointed out how the government 50% off worked. We paid the £19.05 for the three of us and left. All I can say is to check what you're paying as I'd seen a doctoring of a receipt after the customer had left the restaurant.
Regarding the food...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible! Worst Thai food I've ever had (think the owners are actually Indian anyway??). I never usually write reviews but here goes... Ordered "noodles with vegetables in a Thai sauce", well, the noodles were under cooked, the vegetables consisted of carrots (cooked from frozen), spring onions and what I think was supposed to be tofu, in the most sickly-sweet sauce that had no other flavour. My brother-in-law's meal was vegetables (again, cooked from frozen) in what seemed like instant gravy - definitely no Thai flavours there either. I'll be honest, the egg-fried rice was alright and the only thing we ate out of the lot. Now I don't usually make complaints, but when asked how our food was we were honest in our disappointment and the waiter just ignored us and walked off - apparently his English is not very good, which is fair enough not blaming him for that, but from our expressions I think he would have been able to tell we weren't happy. When it came to payment we asked to see the manager as clearly we didn't want to pay for food we didn't eat. The manager told us it was not fair for him to pay out of his own pocket because we didn't want to pay for our food. Firstly, it is not fair that we came out for a nice family meal and left with empty stomachs, and secondly - Hello, that's what happens when you make food that bad: if you want to run a restaurant you have to learn how to cook first. Never have I been anywhere, or worked anywhere, that would let a customer leave unhappy. We chucked him half of the bill and walked out. If he had obliged and discounted the food we didn't pay for I wouldn't be...
Read moreSave your time and money by putting ketchup on your own noodles, before binning the whole mess. 😶 This was nothing like Pad Thai. We will not be going back, and cannot recommend that you give them your custom either.
You are better off with fast food than the embellished decor that this place boasts in lieu of traditional or even just convincingly palatable Thai-esque cuisine.
This was probably the single worst Asian restaurant experience of my adult life (barring the time I got food poisoning from bad Chinese takeaway in NY as a teenager). I ordered a plate of Pad Thai with tofu after being assured that there was no issue with having that made vegan.
I was brought a decoratively garnished plate of rice noodles and tofu thickly glazed in (what looked, smelled, and tasted like) vinegary ketchup.
A member of the wait staff stopped to ask if everything was all right, and when I explained my hesitation, they then confirmed that in order that avoid using fish sauce, the chef opted to substitute ketchup for a very classy plate of what ended up tasting more like a happy meal than a moderately upscale Thai dish.
It was so bad, that in retrospect, having survived the experience, it is...
