We Ordered prawns korma specific for me paid more for it as I don’t eat meat so they asked normal prawns or king. We Came home I opened take away it was with chicken. We are not local just was passing by to grab some dinner with my partner. His food was okay How ever tasteless. Give it to the dogs. I’m disappointed restaurant wasn’t busy they couldn’t get basic order right.

Solid Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant overall, similar quality and prices to other Indian/Bangladeshi curry restaurants in Durham. Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi was quite spicy which was a nice surprise. Atmosphere was bright and lively although I personally find it a little too noisy, but it could be because it was quite full the day we went. Would recommend booking in advance.

I'm giving five stars since the food was actually great, very tasty, much better than expected and a lot better than anything I've found in London in a while. I also think it stands out vs. other Durham Indian restaurants. Service a bit strange...

The food here is so fresh - everything was delicious. The minute I sat down I was made to feel welcome and given advice about the specials by Muki the host. I had a delicious fish special with seabass and king prawns with a fresh and gorgeous sauce served with rice. The whole flavour combination was sensational. One of the best meals I have had for ages. It’s so nice to find a place like this. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ve had so many lacklustre curry experiences even in Manchester so hit Durham up if you want a proper treat. Bangladeshi cuisine at its best. Thanks to Myki...

Very tasty food - nothing wrong with the presentation or quality of the food.

Popadoms started with pickles. All very tasty and fresh pickles, just quite a small pickle portion for 4people having 2each.

Currys were all amazing - Dansak, sizzling plate jalfrezi, lamb vindaloo and the chef special Nawabi (mango) was really tasty.

We all shared 2 rice and 2 naans, but if you’re a big eater then I would say you should order a naan and rice each. The ladies were satisfied but the men wanted more.

We all left feeling full and would...

Capital Restaurant absolutely blew me away. The staff were nothing short of amazing — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every dish I tried was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. It wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience that made my entire weekend.

Honestly, I’d happily waste my money here all the time — it’s that good. Whether you’re a regular or just popping in for the first time, Capital makes you feel right at home....
