Popped in for a breakfast off the new weekend menu, and I can honestly say it is by far the best breakfast I’ve had from a traditional pub for a very very long time. I had the small breakfast, it was more than enough to cure the harshest of hangovers (allegedly) and a coffee for sub £7 it is absolute bargain. Cooked perfectly and came in very good time and piping hot unlike some other local establishments in the area. I’m not brave enough to challenge the mega breakfast. Highly recommend.

This is a awesome place. Food is great, even if it is a little wait at times but that's only because one chef is cooking. Pizzas are to die for, so worth the wait! They have a lil master pizza chef called Alli and she makes pizzas that's worth your money, so cred to her during this heatwave! Reasonable prices on drinks and food. They have 6 pool tables and a good sized car park (I've never had any problems with finding a spot). Some bar staff are real friendly.

The gardeners Arms is a really nice traditional pub. The beer is a bit on the pricey side, and the lovely hand pumps they had several years ago have now sadly been taken out. It does serve very good pub food. It's quite a plush cozy interior with lots of TVs for watching sports. There's a lot of outside seating and some little wooden cabins. A deservedly very popular pub, well known throughout the country by countless generations of students.

Food is ok, and the atmosphere because of atitude is bad. Had to wait for 30 min for 3 breakfasts and one burger... No one but us were eating. Rest were just drinking. It started with a question: Does anyone have any allergies? After I said yes, I had to read terms and conditions, taking into consideration that I didn't have my reading glases with me. I have been told that if I don't agree with them, I wouldn't be served any food. We had a busy day, and we were starving. I read it and questioned them, because terms stated that they are doing best job cos they are pros. But sometimes accidents happen, and if croscontamination will happen, they will not be held responsible!!! Outstanding!!! (not exact word, my interpretation) I pointed out that, as I mentioned before, I have been told that I will not be served unless i agree. I worked in a kitchen before, and I am a certified chef. This is unacceptable!!! Never the less we had a busy day. This was third place we came to, and the other was closed. I agree with the terms, and we ate there(allergy is rear, raspberry) Also, We asked our doghter to bring mom half a glas of orange juice(she needs to mix it with medication). She was ignored. Definitely not will go there and won't...

We have been to Gardeners Arm an unbelievable amount of times since I came as a student in 2018, and decided to do the quiz this evening. All but one of the tables were reserved as we expected, so we arrived at 6:30pm to get a table. My friend saved the only spare table, and we went to the bar to buy drinks, in which time my friend was accosted by a member of staff and accused of moving chairs, (he hadn’t). I said to the ladies at the bar that he hadn’t moved anything, as there were more of us than chairs when we came in, and there still was. This was met with being called a liar by the bar staff. We had bought 3 drinks, and were so disgusted by the behaviour of all 3 staff members that we came into contact with that we left them untouched on the bar. I expect to be reached out to be a member of management for the horrible behaviour of these 3 ladies on your staff...

Used to be a cracking student pub, was here twice a week every week for years. Did a great quiz. Recently revisited with my mates as a reunion trip, was pretty devastated with the place. Loved the renovation to more of a sports bar, great to see more pool tables, however the overly loud live DJ music was unnecessary, was impossible to have a conversation and left with a headache, was a shame they don't play the commentary on the football and if the music had been for atmosphere rather than a 'club' vibe that would have been great. Seems to have an identity crises of what it wants to be, I would suggest loosing the loud music and it would be a far more enjoyable place. The selection of beers are great albeit expensive, similar to the area seems to be nearer London prices, 4.40 for a pint when it used to be 2.40...
