First of all, Grainstore offers a nice selection of real ales. We went for the tour, which is one of the best we've ever been on. Grainstore is a small and almost entirely manually run shop. We've never seen a brewery quite like this. After the tour we had a fantastic lunch and got to chat with the owner who was also our tour guide. Beer was great, food was great, service was great, and the tour was great. Well worth checking out before they move into larger and probably more automated quarters.

A good sized, dog friendly bar with fruendly bar staff. We tried some of the own brewed ales and beer battered fish and chips for lunch. Big portions and we couldn't manage it all. We also had a Grainstore breakfast and devoured it - sausage was good too! Bottomless tea, coffee and orange juice - can't go wrong. The place was getting packed on Saturday night as a band was due to play around 9pm. All in all a great place to eat, drink and be merry 😀.

Went for brewery tour & tasting (bronze package) which was excellent. The tour guide Chris was knowledgeable and entertaining, the ploughman’s lunch plentiful and delicious and the beer was exquisite. Recommend Cooking (a mild), Rutland Panther and Ten Fifty (the real Ruddles County!). Tap room was also excellent. Well worth a visit!

As an outsider to the local area I have to say this is one of the best pubs around and the best pub in Oakham; this is because of their lovely and polite staff members, that are driven to give fantastic customer service. There is nothing they can’t help you with no matter what you’re needs are as a customer. The food is on another level with outstanding food been delivered from the chefs in the kitchen with efficient and quality food being served. The local people on the pub are also friendly therefore making you feel at home when have a drink in here. The range of having 10 beers on tap of which some are made in house are brilliant to try and the staff memebers being able to understand how each one is made makes this pub very unique for the customers experience. A massive thanks to Lorraine, Matt, Natasha for their hard work and great customer service that they provided whilst I was here.

Lastly thanks for the brilliant experience The Grainstore Brewery; if you have not been here before this should be checked out, it will not let you leave feeling...

Fantastic breakfast with great friendly service on Saturday with free tea and coffee. Had a couple of pints of 1050 and I must say what a fantastic beer. Went back on Sunday lunch for a couple more pint and saw they did mini kegs so I bought one ..yum yum..yes please but then had another pint and was told the barrell was off but I didn't care as it was still nice. They took my mini keg away and refunded everything. I got to say I was saddened as I was only visiting friends for weekend. As we were leaving the boss brought the mini keg back and gave it to me and said you may as well have it but let it settle a couple of days then try it.... how good is that.. took responsibility for what they thought was inferior beer which I didn't notice and then give. me 9 pint keg as well. I will try the beer in a few days and if its up to scratch I will send them the money for the keg.... can not fault their commitment . Well done and you deserve more than the 5 stars I...

Once again had a fantastic lunch in Oakham. This is without doubt the best upmarket spitnsawdust place i ever found. The drooling of the hounds lying around the tables at the lunches served up above. We had beef & ale pie, perfect with that bit o dumpling, a rich gravy and expertly cooked veg. The watercress garnish make it look like it fell out of a low entry michelin guide. The french fries were spot on & the boy who eats only chips couldn’t get enough, if only he’d try the dumplings! The MemShaib chose the shepherds pie which she very kindly said was as good as mine, when pressed she admitted the balance of filling to topping was better, didn’t come with dumplings tho…. We took beer home as always the Ten Fifty and Osprey as beautiful as ever. Travelling along the A1 stop for lunch best hour and a half you’ll probably have all day!

June 2024, back again, just as good! Had the ribs this time, huge plateful. Too much in fact! The menu is shorter, might be...
