Part of the local group of bikers that meet on Tuesday evenings 6pm until 9pm. We are a very friendly group of mostly mature bikers riding a mixture of trikes and classic tourers and some dantastic hogs .We travel from all over Somerset. It has a good atmosphere better than some bigger bike nights that loose that atmosphere. We welcome anyone to come and see our bikes or have a chat. We are very friendly as are the group organisers and Landloerd is very accommodating. The food is delicious. We are based around the side and back of the pub

Bike night on Tuesdays is awesome, nice to see a place bikers are welcome. Nice place, nice food and super staff. A really nice pub, how a pub should be, before chain pubs ruined them all. Lovely atmosphere will definitely return here.

UPDATE

Received a call inviting us back to experience the bar on a carvery day.

Truth is, you can't get a carvery wrong, as apart from cooking it yourself it's pretty much a serve yourself. However, the food was good. The meat was tender and flavourful, and the veggies were cooked well. We experienced good service at the bar, and it appeared more relaxed and friendly than the first visit, so the issues experienced at the first visit could be put down to the football rush.

Deserts came out one by one though.

Happy to amend my original review from 1* to 3*.

I live local, and had never been here so thought hey, how about giving this place a chance. Well..... went in, ordered food and a drink and then waited. And waited. And waited. About 40 minutes later, the young guy delivering the food came out with a plate asking who ordered what. No one agreed what he had was theirs, and after a number of customers complained about how long they had waited so far, and the disjointed delivery of cold food, off he went. I then went to the bar to enquire on my order, and was abruptly and agressively told that I would have to wait as it was a busy afternoon. As I wasnt informed about an extended wait, and I was a bit put off at the attetude, I asked if I could cancel my order and have a refund. At that point the bar member went to the kitchen, came back and told me to take my seat as my food was just about to come out. Trying to be calm and reasonable, as it was a bit busy in the pub I agreed. However 10 minutes later, some of the order came out but I was told that my plate of food would not be comming as the ticket ordering from the bar was in disarray and my meal had not been cooked. In fact, it had gone to another table and had been eaten by someone who never even ordered food (found this out later).

Eventually, the bartender came out to me, and dropped a refund for the misding order on the table muttering that the server didn't know what he was doing but and gave no sorry or explanation. I must say though, that the server had better customer service ideas than the bartender as the server expressed how sorry he was, but he couldn't do anything about it.

Explaining that we were upset, the bartender did not seem to care, and appeared to only be interested in the holidaymakers from the local holiday site; shrugged her shoulders and walked off.

Then went to see the manager, and was informed there was none in, but was assured the concern would be raised when the manager next came in. Contact details were taken, and we were informed that we would be informed of the managers response.

So, we shall see. If this is resolved satisfactorily, I will be more than happy to go back and try again. If it is then a positive experience, I will be more than happy to change my opinion of this place and change my review. However, if I hear nothing, I am...

Sadly, not impressed. This place came highly recommended but for us, fell well short of expectations. We went in for the very 1st time, on a Tuesday evening for a meal and a drink. When we got to the bar and asked for a menu we were told that it was 'Bikers evening' and they were only doing BBQ. I explicitly asked if they would be be returning to the full menu on the Wednesday and was told 'Yes, full menu back on tomorrow (Wednesday).' So tonight we head in again looking forward to our evening dinner. However upon getting to the bar and asking for the menu, we were told yet again, 'no menu tonight only BBQ' When I mentioned what I was told the previous evening I was just met with a blank look and a 'Sorry luv' and no further explanation was offered ! Another disappointing evening.

Based on this this we couldn't recommend and won't...

Lovely little pub. We was staying at Haven Burnham on Sea and wanted to go out for a good roast. Looked it up, couldn't find how to book a table but luckily we squeezed in at 1.10pm. They let us sit at a table that was booked for 2pm, we said we would be quick. For a wine, a orange juice, adult carvery & small carvery it was less than £25 and it did not disappoint! So tasty the beef and turkey was so juicy. My daughter demolished hers as did I. Great choice of meat - beef, lamb, pork, turkey & great choice of veg - broccoli, peas, sweetcorn, carrots, green beans, cauliflower cheese, parsnips and of course roast potatoes - which were amazing. Can add all the condiments you want such as apple sauce, cranberry, mint & horseradish and loads of gravy. Highly recommend!! Service was speedy & they were friendly too. Nice little pub with a...
