Sadly, we were not made to feel welcome at all. My husband was left ignored and standing at the counter while the gentleman behind the counter continued his conversation, then eventually bellowed to someone in the back to come out and take an order. We then ordered Staffordshire Oatcakes for me, toast for my husband WITHOUT butter, a pot of tea and a pot of Earl Grey tea. Hubby's tea was awful, my Earl Grey was lovely. The toast arrived, quite heavily buttered (we ordered no butter) and instead of two slices of toast, he was given two whopping great toasted crusts. We thought charging £4.00 (apparently related to the time of day) for a couple of slices of toast was pushing it a bit, but then to present two doorstop crusts without a word took the biscuit!
