Disappointed with Service & Quality
I was expecting more from this place, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the price tag.
First, the service was lacking—staff at the till didn’t seem confident in operating it independently. More concerningly, they were unaware of potential allergens. My stepmum is allergic to strawberries and asked if the açaí contained any. Instead of having an immediate answer, they had to go upstairs to check, which isn’t reassuring for anyone with dietary restrictions.
I ordered the açaí, and for £10, I was surprised to receive it in a flimsy cardboard cup. It was incredibly inconvenient—every time I tried to scoop, the ingredients spilled over. When I asked for a bowl, I was told they don’t have any, which seems like a basic necessity for serving food properly.
Additionally, cleanliness was an issue. Many tables were left with dirty trays from previous customers, and there was no one actively clearing them.
We spent over £30 for 1 açaí, 1 juice, 1 matcha, and 1 ham and cheese sandwich. I’m happy to pay premium prices for good food and service, but unfortunately, this didn’t meet expectations and don't think i will be coming back...
Read moreIt is the first time I have used this place. I purchased a mocha and I have it say it tasted superb. I sat down and was drinking my mocha whist on the laptop for around 15 mins the place was mostly empty with only a few tables occupied. I was then approached by a staff member saying the place I was sitting is a laptop free zone. I couldn’t see any signage. Plus the laptop area was full. I felt so humiliated that I just packed my laptop away and left without even finishing my mocha. I wasn’t even offered an alternative place to sit. I understand you have a policy but more clearer signage and if the place wasn’t full then why couldn’t the staff member explain it but say I could stay this time. Overall I won’t be coming back and will be using the new Caffè Nero opening on Friday. Poor service, you shouldn’t let our customers...
Read moreI visited the mixing jug on an Easter holiday weekend with a friend who is colieac. After going around in the high street to see who is serving gluten-free meals, we came across this place. They have advertised that they cater for colieac, vegan etc so we decided to stick to this place and order brunch. It was disappointing. When asked what the gluten-free options were, the staff were clueless. They did not have a basic gluten-free bread. Was recommended to purchase a protein rice bowl, and the sauce was given separately that had gluten in it. My friend had to eat dry rice and veges with no flavour in it. For the amount we paid, it was definitely not worth it! Would also suggest the mixing jug having a basic gluten-free bread/bagel as an option...
