OPPS POSTED ON THE WRONG PUB - SORRY Visited for the first time on Thursday 30th April 2015 at lunch time with my husband and our daughter. We were warmly welcomed and although there were only the bar staff there more people soon arrived. The pub is very cosy and well decorated. The pub offers a great variety of real ales and ciders - great choice according to my husband. We also had a glass of wine and a coke. The menu was quite extensive and offered a good choice - my husband chose the garlic mushrooms to start - which we all tasted - they were delicious. Two of us had the beef with cabbage and mustard potato with gravy in an individual small jug and one of us had a burger with roll and chips. All meals were well presented, hot, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious !!! We ventured on for desert - although the choice was limited to about 5 deserts we choose the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and the chocolate brownie with ice cream. We shared these between the three of us and they were both equally wonderful!! As you can see from this post we all thought the meal was excellent and value for money and will be going...

The food was definitely worth the wait. The black pudding stack was to die for, and the peppercorn sauce on it had a little kick. The Stilton mushrooms were very tasty and well cooked. The gammon steak was very tasty and the chips were crispy but soft inside.
The only complaint we had was the portion size was a little big for us, but they would be fine for others with larger appetites.
The atmosphere was very friendly and warm. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Overall, I would definitely recommend The Plough to people and will most likely...
