A fantastic, comfortable hotel, with friendly staff and management. I stayed at The Saracens Head for one night and was very kindly bumped up to a double room! The room was well furnished, comfortable, good temperature, plenty of plug sockets, and an easy to use shower and bath. The room was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay. I booked the dinner, bed and breakfast rate and was so impressed by my three course meal and full English breakfast, the rate is very reasonable with lovely food included. The staff went out of their way to help me, with the hotel manager being particularly polite and friendly. I felt very looked after. Please extend my thanks to the Saracens Head team and I look forward to staying again in the new year.

NOW we know where to go in Towcester! Whenever we go shopping in the town, we always have difficult finding somewhere to stop for lunch. Our last visit (some years ago now) had been rather unsatisfactory but since so many of the cafes in town seem to have shut down, we decided to try again and were very glad we did. We had the lunchtime version of fish, chips and mushy peas for £5.99 each. For that money, we expected a smaller portion so were pleasantly surprised by the size of the dish. Super crunchy batter, excellent chips (which I didn't manage to finish) and (the only let down) some rather crunchy mushy peas. With a pint and a half, it came to just over £18. We'll be back!

Massive thank you to Michelle at the Saracens Head in Towcester who has gone above and beyond to accommodate myself with a surprise party booking after being let down by another local establishment. Michelle accommodated all my requests and ensured all was in place ahead of the big day which was earlier today. The birthday boy was very surprised and everyone we met at The Saracens Head couldn’t do enough for us. The food was incredible, the service amazing and the whole day was fantastic - thank you so very much. Nothing was too much trouble and we will 100% be recommending you and using you again in the future xxx — at Saracens Head

Lovely hotel, although was definitely not pleased with the whole experience. Firstly when we arrived there was no one on reception and it said to call a number to get someone to come over. After doing this about 3 times someone finally answered and said they were on their way however they took about 10 minutes to arrive which was a little frustrating and unprofessional. Secondly their was a door to the room next to us in our room which wouldn't of been an issue as it was locked however it meant that the everything could be heard in the room next door just as they could probably hear me in my room next door which made me feel rather uncomfortable and took away the privacy element to the room. Thirdly the manager working there I found very difficult and rude. I had stayed at a Old English Inn prior to the Saracens Head and was very impressed with the whole experience and have nothing to fault with it, however the manager for this one seemed to have a very different attitude. After eating dinner which was really nice I asked the guy at the bar if I could have some soya milk for my room as I cannot have milk and he said he would ask the manager for me. He came back after about 5 minutes and was extremely polite but said I should go to reception to speak to her about the 'soya milk situation'. The manager was very abrupt and basically said no to having any soya milk and when asked if she could get any in for the morning she said 'no, greene king don't cater for that',while also saying' you can go buy your own soya milk, we are perfectly fine with that.. ' which annoyed me further because of course you would be fine with me buying me own milk, there is no reason why you wouldn't be, also the fact that the previous greene King had gone and bought soya for me with no issue made me query her reasoning further. I was very frustrated by this as I cannot understand the difficulty in getting some soya milk for the morning for a guest who has paid good money for the room and cannot help the fact that they cannot have milk? So for anyone who has any intolerances I suggest doing a food shop before arriving as they will not cater for your needs! Bar the manager who was just unpleasant throughout our stay, the rest of the staff were lovely and the service we received from...

Having to leave a 1 star review as my experience of this place was appalling!

We chose to come here to eat food with our family and friends who had travelled over 2 an half hours to attend Ford Fair! Upon arriving our arrival I asked my partner to go see if their was able to accommodate our family of 4 and the server had said that they was able to.

So we decided to get my two children out of the car who was excited to have some food after having the long travel.. as I waited in my seat, my partner greeted our friends who had arrived… for me to be told “They don’t do walk ins” so I responded “you told my partner 10 minutes ago that you could accommodate us” For him to “just mumble under his breath” as he see my partner walking back to the table.

Saying that where they located us was Enough room for our friends to join us and the rest of the place to look rather quiet.. a few of our friends had ordered as we was about to we over heard a table next door to us saying they got their at 18:00 and ordered food at 18:30 and they was still waiting at 19:20 an all the server could offer was a free drinks so they got up and left. As the server approached us and told us we had to sit and wait to hear if we could eat food which was a lot of money they lost with our friendship group… he then come back 5-10 minutes later to tell us “we couldn’t have food” as a lot of us was tried hungry… frustrated half of us had ordered food we of course wanted a refund to be told we would get it in a few days… and to “Just Leave” which you could clearly see he didn’t want to do much work…

Saying all of this the supervisor/managers didn’t make an appearance seemed to hide behind the servers words…

The bloke didn’t seem like he knew what he was doing (didn't look like a lot if I’m completely honest)

As we went to leave the place there was several people at the bar complaining! Honestly don’t see how this venue has high reviews when our experience was appalling!

We settled for a McDonald’s instead (8.5/10) would recommend as the customers service was far better...

Reminiscing and realised I never gave credit where credits is due. A year ago last month I got married at the Saracens Head. Michelle was our contact and couldn’t have been more helpful, she was knowledgeable, accommodating and offered her advice when we we were unsure. The venue were so accommodating and supportive when our NYE 2020 wedding was cancelled (due to covid) just 12 hours before. Due to covid numbers being only 30 we’d arranged a live stream for the rest of our family, after a few hours in the morning trying to get it to work and feeling pretty deflated Michelle told me not to worry, sent me home to get ready and promised she wouldn’t give up on it. She worked tirelessly with the company and pulled it out of the bag! Me and my family will be eternally grateful for this. I’d set up the venue for the ceremony with my family in the morning with Michelle on standby making everyone drinks and ensuring we had everything we needed.(I should add that they had a wedding the day before and the room was ready for us at 6.30am the following morning) The wedding team offered to dress the reception room with the bits I had including items used for the ceremony. Whilst we had our couples shoot they turned the room around so beautifully, it was more than I could have ever imagined. The food was just perfect, they bought out each of the plates by name and knew where everyone was sitting, they were incredibly accommodating with the family food allergies, the attention to detail was outstanding. The team looking after us were so lovely and really made each of us in the room feel so special, not just the bride and groom. They honestly couldn’t do enough for us from the second we first met until we were ready to say goodbye. Our upmost apologies for the late review (and the essay- no words seem enough) but you and your team really did make our day so special, grateful always.

Mr and...
