If you are thinking of coming here as a group of 10+ people then think again, save the money you have and take your business elsewhere. We had booked a table for 7pm and were seated at the back of the restaurant in what seemed like an abandoned office labelled the VIP lounge. This is where the fun starts, right? Wrong! The waiters were quick to take our drinks orders, and done a mediocre job at this as only 4 drinks were correct. We had waited over an hour just to see the starters plonked onto our table with no apology from the waiter. I guess his customer service disappeared along with his hair. Me and the party were then challenged with a 90 minute wait which during this period, half of the party decided to leave at the minute 45 mark so for the rest of the 45 minutes we watched an episode of Game of Thrones and still received no food. I guess the waiter probably eats most of the customer’s orders here as suggested by his bulging belly that he had knocked my head with when placing my mains on the opposite end of the table even though I had my hand raised once the order was read out. Also, if you like to eat your paneer splashed with a dash of sweat from the fresh source of the waiters bald head then I recommend you eat here. The mains arrived finally, complimentary forehead sweat included, cold and inedible. The rice was cold and the paneer shashlik was overwhelmed with onions and one slice of red pepper. We were persistent on getting the bill. I think I must have asked them to provide me an equation describing the string theory? After a 20 minute wait we were then produced with a bill which charged us for food that we did not even have at the table. I guess the waiter was charging us for his meal that he consumed whilst we were left hungry watching for ours! I can only describe the manager as a jobber that has no clue of what customer service is and his waiter has no clue of what a hairstyle is. Here's a helpful tip if you guys comprehend how business works, do NOT call your customers liars and then proceed to charge us for food that we did not eat. Put your waiter on a diet and get him to clean himself up as his sweaty forehead looks as unappealing as your food you serve...
Read moreWe had a large party booking, even when i called to check my time they weren't able to tell me. They called back to say we were in the ‘VIP’ room. We got there and waited around to be seated. The room was like an office with random tables. We had to move the tables ourselves as they had not even set them out and shoved 2 in the corner so 2 people can eat alone. There was also old happy 60th decorations left on the walls - shows they dont clean the room. Then the waiter took the best part of an hour to take our order and bring out our drinks - also they tell you the coke is 330ml its not its the small 200ml bottles so again conning you. The starters came out 2 hours after we arrived at which point i contemplated ordering McDonalds from Uber eats. The starters came out cold. The food isn’t authentic indian, its cheap bengali food using the same sauce for every curry and grade 2 ingredients. At this point half the party had to leave as they had young kids who were hungry and getting restless. Another hour later finally our mains came out. Again cold - even the children got cold rice. The currys were tasteless, if anyone knows about quality indian food dont go here, your better off getting a M&S dine for 2 if will taste better and wont take 3 hours to arrive. Finally when the bill comes the waiter gets shirty when we ask to get the food discounted as most of the people left. What kind of restaurant argues with its customers when the food took over 3 hours to come!! The owner also got rude. I cant see this ‘indian’ restaurant being here for long. Poor food, awful service, disgusting...
Read moreWe booked a table at The Sultan Restaurant because we had a takeaway about a month ago and it was absolutely delicious 😋 so when friends asked for suggestions for a local Indian restaurant, we doesn’t hesitate to put this forward as a suggestion😊 we booked a table for 7 o’clock and arrived on time with our friends and were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us to our table which was all ready for us. They served us some drinks and poppadoms straight away and said they would be back to take our order 😊 after about 10 minutes of waiting we asked if they could take our order and they said somebody would be with us soon 😊 they then took our starter and main course orders at about 7:30 🙂 it then took another hour and a half for them to finally bring up our starters after several times of asking where our food was ☹️ It was a shame that it took so long for our food to come up because when it arrived as before it was absolutely delicious and you couldn’t fault the quality of the food served 👍 looking back on it. I wonder if they prioritise takeaways in the kitchen and that is why it takes so long for the food to be served in the main dining area 🤔 our friend said they enjoyed the food very much but maybe next time when we all get together, we order a takeaway and don’t eat at the restaurant 😎 I would recommend the Sultan restaurant because the food is delicious but if you come and eat in be prepared for a...
