We came here for breakfast and arrived at 10.40 and ordered within a couple of minutes. We then had to wait 50 minutes for our food. I don't know how big the kitchen is, but it seems that they were making each order individually from scratch each time they picked up an order receipt. The reason why I say this is because we were two of about 5 people before us who had ordered the same thing. Surely you would batch cook what you need rather than cooking on breakfast then moving on to the next. The only reason I can think for this is the size of the kitchen, and if that's the case, then it would help to be told that it may take a while for food to come out. The menu is basic, all day breakfasts, bacon or sausage sandwiches, porridge, crumpets, sandwiches, baguettes (normal fillings, ham, cheese, tuna, etc) jacket potatoes with standard fillings. Some interesting homemade cakes and scones. That said, the food is freshly cooked and delicious - with generous portions and the coffee was well made from a professional machine. Staff are friendly and it's popular with locals and market traders. Would recommend a visit, but don't expect anything fancy. It's basic, wholesome English café...
