Very large well decorated pub with lots of screens, some very large for sport but the real star here is the food. You wouldn't expect a pub close to the town centre to offer such incredible food at a very good price. All courtesy of Chef Rob who takes such pride in his food, all prepared in house. We opted for the Argentinian t bone steaks, cooked to perfection. Breaded whitebait and sticky ribs provided our starter, incredible. Even the coleslaw is made in the kitchen. Cannot recomend enough. The Sunday roasts are supposed to be just as impressive, will be tasting these very soon.

Recently redone to a really high standard with a complete change in staff. A total change from the place it was to the trendy place it is now. Yes prices have gone up, but it's now a place you actually want to go. Have kept the pool table and the large outside porch area. Good food menu, though on a Sunday the menu is restricted to a number of roasts, they look great but if you're after a light bite you're stuffed!

I always like going to this pub because it is an independent pub with great service, lovely food, and a fabulous atmosphere. We must support these independent pubs to be survive, grow and be successful for our community. I’ll be visiting this establishment as often as I can for a few jars and some grub. I hope this review supports their continued success.

Great for a pub lunch and family friendly. Relaxed and informal.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime - it was not busy although we did book as there were 8 of us. Very friendly staff that serves us from our table. Food was typical pub grub - burgers, which were great, steaks, fish and chips etc. They have a kids menu and a small plates menu - I had the cod fingers bap and it was excellent - fresh fish, crispy batter, straight from the fryer, with decent tartare sauce and a small side salad of fresh leaves. Chips were good and crispy. Extra sauces were offered.

Drink selection is mostly mainline taps and spirits with a small selection of bottles although they did have Maltsmiths IPA on draft when we visited.

They show sports and have numerous screens so you can always see wherever you're sat. There is also a pool table...

My Sisters arranged a Family get together for my visit. Its been ten years since ive been there. I did have my 40th there and it was fab( different owners) this was a more of a dinner as apppsed to a party. But i must say EVERYONE enjoyed their food the prices are great and the atmosphere lovely. Clean all around. I would rate this over all of the other spots in town with exception to the other establishment this management team own. Classy, Comfortable . Thanks Yvonne and Cleve for putting up with us rowdy lot. Fab...
