Urban Oven (Durham) — Restaurant in England

I was recently provided an abysmal service by a Urban Oven, as my preferred pizza delivery company was closed on Tuesdays.

Urban Oven took no care in the packing of food, and the food itself was barely edible. Before even receiving my order, I was notified that the desert I ordered wasn’t in stock. Although, I was able to receive a prompt refund through the company I ordered through.

Once the order arrived, 30 minutes late, it was immediately clear no care was taken. The pizza box was soggy, and a number of food items were also soggy. Both the pizzas I ordered had barely being cooked, they were luke warm and it was like eating dough, and I could even taste the tomato pure. After reheating the pizza and eating a small portion I decided to not eat anymore, as the quality was incredibly poor, and one of the pizzas I was concerned as to wether it was even safe to eat. So I’ve thrown away both pizzas.

The only item from my order that was of satisfactory quality was the 2 bottles of Coca Cola which were overpriced, and weren’t even chilled. But as it was the Coca Cola brand and it was pre-packed the taste itself was fine, as you’d expect from a mass produced drink.

I contacted the company I ordered the pizzas from online immediately after receiving my order and made it clear I wish to complain about the service provided and they were able to contact the Urban Oven and provide me a full refund of the order.

Simply put, the service it atrocious and I’ve had better microwave pizzas for 1/6 of the cost. However, I didn’t have any pizzas to cook and also didn’t want to cook today, which is why I decided to give Urban Oven a try. The only good thing is that my order was promptly refunded, but I believe this was primarily due to the company I ordered through contacting Urban Oven on my behalf. Either that, or Urban Oven is unable to defend the poor quality of food and are unable to provide a satisfactory reason to charge me what they were going to.

The other reviews certainly reflect the poor service provided by Urban Oven and I would not recommend Urvan Oven, if anything I’d recommend avoiding them if you can, it isn’t...

Worst experience ever! Ordered a Donner kabab. Chips was raw, donner meat was dripping with grease, came with wrong sauce which I am allergic too, didn’t have enough change to pay me back thought it was acceptable to rob loyal customer although if it was on the other hand and I didn’t have enough to pay for the food it would have been a different story, when rang to complain the man was very rude shouting on wouldn’t let me have a a word in edge way, finally sent someone out to come and take the food and give me a refund they turned round and said I couldn’t have the refund and gave me back the food, overall -1/10 would not order from here again the last owners was 10 of these people now save your money and find...

Bought chips and garlic which were overpriced to start with at £3.50. Garlic pot was tiny so asked for another one. They told me it was £1 which I was happy to pay but they refused to serve me stating firstly that they had none, then that they were closed, then that I didn’t ask nicely enough for it. I own a business and I always do the most to make my customers happy, I am appalled at how these people run this takeaway. They have zero respect and I will not be using them again!
