A group of 7 people, we had a highly disappointing experience at South Beach Restaurant & Bar at the Nici Bournemouth that I feel compelled to share.
From the moment we arrived, the service was poor. We were left waiting for long periods without any attention from the staff. When we finally managed to place our orders, we were informed 20 minutes later that 3 out of the 5 meals we ordered were not available. This delay and lack of communication were incredibly frustrating.
To add to our dissatisfaction, when the drinks arrived, my Bloody Mary was so overly spiced that it was nearly undrinkable. It was clear that the bartender had not followed a standard recipe.
As if the situation couldn't get any worse, we noticed an attempt to charge us for more people than were actually in our party. Whether this was a blatant attempt to overcharge us or just incompetance, we're not sure.
The final straw was the management's lack of involvement. The manager stayed out of the way and only came to talk to us after we insisted on speaking with him. His reluctance to address the issues head-on was very disappointing.
Overall, our experience at Nici Restaurant was very poor. The combination of forgotten orders, unavailability of meals, poorly made drinks, and attempts to overcharge us, all topped off by ineffective management, made for an extremely disappointing dining experience. Service was very slow, and although we were four people, the table was extremely narrow. When we asked to move to a wider one (just two similar tables joined), we were told it wasn’t possible.
We ordered starters, sides, and mains, but the waitress asked how we expected all the plates to fit on the table. When we said we weren’t sure, she said they’d hold the mains until we finished the starters. This dragged the whole dinner out to nearly two hours.
The still water we ordered never arrived but was added to the bill. On top of that, I had spoken to the manager beforehand to arrange a small birthday dessert with a candle as a surprise. I had to follow up four times with different staff, but it never came. Eventually, I had to cancel it—and my wife, unfortunately, realized the surprise that never happened.
We also asked to move to an outdoor table (seeing others seated outside) and were told they’d be bringing those customers inside, which never happened either.

Food was alright but customer service got a lot to work on. Table the whole time was messy, nobody was cleaning it in between dinner and after. That wouldn’t be a big problem but 12,5 % of the bill for costumer service is bit much considering that waiter mess up the bill, and without asking after me paying the whole bill without 22 pp that he didn’t mention he requested refund for the whole amount and I had to pay again. He didn’t even explain the whole mess he done, he just send another waitress to deal with it. Behaving bit childlish. He ruined the whole evening with that behavior the whole payment thing was bit of a stretch,my taxi that was waiting charged me for waiting to long.
