Chineside — Restaurant in England

Location is obviously great and price reflects location NOT quality of food.

First we ordered drinks which were bought to us promptly along with the bill. Before we’d even had a real chance to sit back and relax, the waitress came back with the card machine. We explained that we’d also like food. Neither of the two waitresses that we were served by on this visit seems to realise we were humans. They barely looked at us and just seemed to want to rush away. The place was not at all busy with it being a weekday and off season.

Next we ordered food. We chose the American pancakes which were advertised to come with fresh berries, fruit compote, Greek yoghurt, and honey. The waitress took our order and then promptly arrived again with the bill and card machine. We wanted to split the bill and this appeared to be a big hassle and challenge. Eventually we paid and had a short wait before food was delivered.

Upon the delivery of the food, we realised that it had been quite falsely advertised. There were some chopped strawberries but it is up for debate as to whether they were fresh. There was an absence of fruit compote, Greek yoghurt, or honey. There instead was a good handful of mini marshmallows, chocolate sauce, and a small dish of whipped cream. We were incredibly disappointed. Although we wanted to mention this - particularly with one of us being vegetarian (so unable to eat marshmallows) - we were unable to catch the attention of the staff to explain our concerns.

We do wonder why the fact that the dish would be so different to advertised wasn’t mentioned when ordering and also why they were so keen for us to pay before delivering the food. But unfortunately did not see another member of staff to ask.

The food was mediocre, service was unsatisfactory, prices did not reflect the quality, menu did not correctly advertised, but the location was ideal. We feel this business is balancing on the location as this is the only thing...

We came to have lunch at Chineside, looked like decent menu and initially where happy to try it out, overall experiences was terrible. We ordered a fish and chips x2 and a ceasar salad with anchovies, about 2 minutes later the waitress came out and made it clear we had to pay then and there, we obliged, And due to the business we could imagine that some patrons possibly could leave without paying and the potential of them never finding them again. We received food timeously which was great. Starting with the salad, we found that the anchovies was pickled fish, unlike the ones you would get in a traditional ceasar salad, the lettuce had not need cleaned and had dirt through out the leaves of lettuce. To the point where we couldn’t excuse it, it was like it was from the ground and cut up on the plate and served… pretty shocking Next, the battered cod and chips, it had a great batter nice and crispy. pretty par small portion of ships from a bulk supplier and the cod it’s self was really strange, some really hard tough pieces within it, the flesh was like it was dehydrated in places, I can only imagine that it was microwaved pretty good before it was cooked, the mushy peas where terrible they came out with a dark green crust on top like they had been sitting under a hot pass for god knows how long. Service was non existent other taking an order, the waiter was not seen again, we sat there for about 40 minutes waiting for a check in to bring up the issue of the salad that was pretty much a risk to health to consume, yet nothing, service was shockingly poor for place In Such a prime location, and food obviously absolute let down, overall I wouldn’t recommend, left feeling robbed and they failed to deliver in and...

AMAZING...I am not writing this review because I was bribed with a free ice cream after I dropped my first one... joking aside this is the pefect place to grab yourself good ol' british fish and chip while at the beach. Food was perfect and their ice cream is very nice too. All of it at a reasonable price. And the customer service is the main reason behind my 5 stars. Honestly it was amazing. Ordered 5 portions and asked if I could get the 6th a bit of a discount as I was a bit short. I was told no... kinda expected it but hey if you do ask you dont get. So I used the change to get some ice cream while I waited which was brilliant and flavoursome. Anyways back to my story so the cashier prematurely called my number out and as I went back to my waiting spot I dropped the best ice cream in the world. Being an adult i thought you win some and you lose some my fault. To my surprise the boss offered me a new ice cream free of charge and insisted even though i was saying its okay i dont want another one (I actually did I was being nice). Also to my surprise when I got back to my family with the food I saw that we did get 6 portions not just the 5 I ordered. So for that excellent display of customer service I give you 5 stars... would give more...
