Went To Market — Restaurant in England

We had a very disappointing experience at this coffee shop. The food was both dry and oily, so we raised our concerns with the manager. Unfortunately, she was incredibly rude and dismissive, insisting there was nothing wrong. When we suggested she try a piece, she refused. We requested cheese to improve the meal and were informed there would be an extra charge. The hostility was tangible.

When I asked for a refund, the manager became hostile, resorting to personal insults about my character and claiming she'd never received bad feedback in eight years. A quick look at the Google reviews clearly shows others have shared similar negative experiences with her and the staff. We got a refund but it was done so rudely that we would've preferred she didn't.

I suggested that an apology and a willingness to resolve the issue would go a long way in addressing customer concerns, but she took this personally. Instead of resolving the issue, she and her staff started glaring at us and obviously speaking about us, making us feel very uncomfortable until we decided to leave.

I’ve been a loyal customer for many years. In that time I haven’t always had the best experience but have given them the benefit of the doubt. I’m a new mum of twins (I was there often when pregnant as well) and I’ve tried on a number of occasions to get a coffee/ lunch with my boys. Three times I’ve been VERY rudely asked to leave because of my pram, despite me trying to get in with NO prams in side. The last time I attempted (and never again) two prams had just come out & then I entered. A staff member quite literally took me by the arm and escorted me out saying ‘we can’t have the pram in here’. When I said two prams have just left she just rudely said ‘no you need to leave, it’s a hazard’. Parents, please don’t waste your time and money here. The service is disgusting and has left me very upset & embarrassed too many times. The food really isn’t worth the trip either and it’s hit and miss on whether the coffee will be warm enough. Having spoken to other new mums in my friendship circle, they’ve also all voiced they’ll never go here...

I have been a customer here many times in the past but after today, I won't be again.

I ordered a take away panini and stood waiting for it to be cooked. I happened to notice that the woman cooking handled raw bacon/pancetta, didn't but wash her hands afterwards and then continued to make other people's food. including wraps, and handling and cutting up my panini.

I asked to confirm that it was definitely raw meat I had seen be handled, they confirmed it was and when I said that I had seen no hand washing it use of gloves they defensively said the used tongs. She's correct, she did but only for the cooked meat. I politely asked for a refund and left. This is basic food hygiene but instead of receiving an apology, I was treated very frostily made to feel like I was in the wrong for expecting food to be handled with basic food...
