Highly recommend this restaurant, the staff were attentive and helpful to our table of four, and the menu had a perfect number of choices on it. Our meals were beautifully presented and we all enjoyed them. The hummus and tarama were smooth and very moreish, flatbreads were soft and warm. The olives were fat and fruity, really quite nice, and I do not usually eat olives so tried them at the urging of my friend, and will happily recommend them. The kleftico was perfectly cooked and my kebabs took me straight back to my Mum's village in Southern Europe, amazing. Our companions enjoyed their mousakka and King Prawns (huge!). If you are choosing the smaller plates then you will 100% want to order a side, we shared the oregano fries which again, were delicious. The puddings get their own paragraph, OMG just leave room in your tummies for them. My baklava was super moist and whilst not quite to my Auntie Maria's very high standard of baklava (which she unapologetically over fills with pistachios), it was the best version I've had so far in any restaurant, with a generous nut mix and the honey syrup/pastry combo was perfect. My husband had the baklava cheesecake which he said was very sweet, my friend had the raspberry posset which I tried some of and would definitely order for myself next time. All in all, a fantastic little restaurant. Our personal preferences would be a little more salad with the kebabs and another potato or two with the kleftico but now we know the portion sizes we will order extra next time. Be aware the toilets are up a flight of steep steps. Yes, a little bit pricey but we were at the waterside in Looe with a beautiful night time view across the water and one extra pound or two on each meal I felt was well worth that. Great location, attentive staff, amazing food. 100% recommended.

Beautiful restaurant and delightful Greek cuisine. If you like authentic Greek flavours and meat cooked to perfection, look no further. Our table tried the lemon chicken, the beef, the lamb and the market fish - I think consistently the most beautifully cooked meat I've had in any Cornish restaurant. Starters and small plates were gorgeous- the hallumi and lemon jam was an absolute treat. Slightly disappointed that the souvlaki/gyros had sold out and there were limits on the lemon chicken by our table time of 7pm - the menu is reasonably small which I don't hate at all however can feel a bit jarring when essentially a third of the main plates aren't available - I'm not necessarily shocked with the quality and popularity however do feel 7pm is early to be running out of food on a Saturday night. Thankfully the market Monkfish allowed me to forgive them 🤣. If you're a strict vegan or veggie you will find the menu very limited - likely impossible if you're a vegan - this restaurant certainly celebrates all things meat. Price point - around £70 each for starters, mains, desserts, wine and soft drinks. On the way out you can be tempted into take awat treats of almond chocolate and Mythos beer - pricey but thats why they call it a treat! Well worth the money and we will certainly be visiting again. Thank you Yamas!

upon first arrival there were two seperate men demanding refunds at the bar so didn’t start off on a good note, once seated the tables around us were all discussing the long waiting times and how multiple of them had received the wrong orders. We ordered the chicken Slouvaki with no sauce (we were gutted to find out they’d removed gyros off the menu- probably to make more money as u now have to pay extra for bread and Tzatziki). Unfortunately we received our order with sauce (apparently a common issue here according to those around us) then when we questioned this the waitress looked agitated and only took one plate away instead of both. We got our new dishes after about ten minutes, which was odd considering our original dishes took almost a good hour, and they looked quite good but one of my skewers appeared to be undercooked (image below) so they must have rushed out our second order. Ended up coming to Ā£72 for a main and a cocktail each (2 ppl) which I think is quite overpriced considering the speed and quality of the dishes, also as our cocktails were a bit frothy and looked rushed. Disappointed as reviews were really good but may have just been a bad night, but considering this was a Wednesday during term time I can’t imagine how they would get on in a summer rush.

We’ve been searching for real, honest-to-God Greek food outside of Greece for years a and we finally found it here, in the heart of the beautiful Cornish town of Looe.

Yamas place is literally a hidden gem. Everything we tasted was the real deal: Greek food to die for. You can tell it’s made with heart, tradition, and the kind of respect Mediterranean ingredients deserve.

Let’s talk about the food.

The taramosalata was smooth, delicate, and perfectly balanced, just enough lemon, not too salty, and none of that fake pink nonsense you sometimes see elsewhere.

The pita? Warm, soft, slightly charred. The kind that makes you forget cutlery exists.

The moussakĆ ? Oh wow! Wow! Wow! So rich, creamy, comforting layers of flavour. You taste the cinnamon, the real bĆ©chamel, the tender aubergines and perfectly seasoned meat. Truly one of the best we’ve ever had, even compared to Athens or Thessaloniki.

And then… the Greek yogurt cheesecake. An outstandingsurprise. I loved it! The texture was heavenly, light but structured, and the presentation was elegant without being over the top. A perfect, refreshing finish.

The ingredients shine in the Greek salad: ripe tomatoes bursting with sunshine, silky olive oil, herbs that taste like they were just picked from a garden by the sea. Maybe a hint of beautiful cardamom? You feel like you’ve stepped into a little slice of the Aegean coast, right in Cornwall.

Big compliments to the chef: you can feel his Greek soul in every dish.

Service was a little slow at the start, but the staff were genuinely sweet and welcoming. You could tell they cared, and that made all the difference.

Highly, highly recommend. We’ll be back, probably sooner...

Your restaurant came recommended by our host as we are staying about 25 mins outside of Looe. And the food was excellent. We cant fault it at all. The service however was a complete let down. Although the servers were very friendly. The service was more akin to a fast food restaurant. We had to flag down attention from the first first order, which was difficult. We finally got a food order in. The dips and pita were lovely however nit nearly enough bread. We tried to order additional bread and it took 10 minutes to get the attention of someone even though we sat at the table right next to the till and kitchen door.

Other tables around us has the same issue, with the table behind us actually getting up to go to tge bar and point at the bottle of wine that they wanted as nobody took their drinks order. our only opportunity to order additional drinks was as the food came. We sat with our empty glasses and plates on the table for a long time after finishing, and eventually had to flag down a server for a bill instead of for coffee and desert which we really did feel like having but weren’t sure how much effort it was going to be. for a table of 4, there was a missed opportunity for an additional Ā£60-Ā£80 in drinks and food that was difficult to even ask for, though we weren't offered. After receiving the bill, another 10-15 minutes to get someone’s attention for card machine.

The restaurant itself is really pretty and the food really good. But the fast food style service really lets it all down and should be addressed. the food and location isnt fast food and neither are the prices so the service...
