10 July 2024 It will only allow one review from the same person (me!) so each time we go I will just add to my review on here and date it along with adding photos!

Date not logged: ‘Wandering Wednesday’ this week took both Neil and I, into Town as we had some business to take care of and whilst we were in Town, we decided to go back to Yum Cha Chinese restaurant. The dishes come out in no particular order, when it’s cooked it’s placed on your table….. Dishes to share: *Salt and Pepper spare ribs *General Tso’s chicken with *Sweet and spicy sauce *Broccoli and Pak Choi in garlic and chilli *Salt and pepper fries *Steamed baby ribs in black bean and chilli……. They maybe a form of delicacy in China but DEFINITELY not for Neil’s or my palette!!! It was just bone surrounded with fat! (My face clearly wasn’t impressed when I lifted the lid off the steam basket!!!) Entrée Neil had Noodle soup, ramen noodles with 3 meats, duck chicken and Char Sui with a pork and prawn wonton in the middle. I had, crispy beef and soft fried noodles in a sweet spicy sauce……. Dishes were fabulous as always (apart from!……..you know which one!!!) ‘Wandering Wednesday’ this week took Neil and I to ‘Yum Cha’, Chinese restaurant in Warrington Town centre. This place is a ‘must visit’! The restaurant itself is brightly coloured and absolutely spotless. Very courteous and attentive staff. You order starters and entrées but they mention right at the beginning that your dishes will arrive as soon as they are cooked and in no particular order…… we sat with a buffet in front of us fit for a King…… loved all the various plates on the table, being able to sample dishes in which order you please. ‘Starter dishes!’ To share: *Niurou teriyaki slices: which is…. Ribeye steak pan-fried, sliced, drizzled in teriyaki sauce, sprinkled sesame seeds. *Salt & pepper ribs with onions and mixed peppers. *Traffic light dumplings: Pink was prawn and bamboo shoots *Yellow was chicken with finely chopped ginger *Green was mixed vegetables. *Soft fried noodles with bean sprouts. Entrée Neil ordered *’Katsu crispy chicken curry’, with fried rice. *I ordered ‘Roasted meats’: Roast duck Roast Char siu Roast chicken Crispy belly pork, with fried rice and classic soy sauce dressing. *Pot of English ‘tea for two’.

In all, each of the meats were melt in the mouth, they were all so tender, ribs fell off the bone and all the dishes were piping hot and bursting with flavours. Every dish was faultless….

This place is not to be missed, our service was very good indeed….. as soon as we ordered the food, it was all out within 10 minutes but then you were left to sit, enjoy the food without feeling rushed. For a Wednesday early afternoon it was pretty busy and I can only but feel once word has gotten out about this new gem, it’ll be full all the time…. Just keep in mind, at the moment you cannot book your table, first come, first served.

This place is not to be missed…. Goes without saying, that...

Today I tried this restaurant for the first time and they totally let me down. The service was absolutely awful. My order was some Sweet+Sour Chicken and Xiao Long Bao however they served me with an extra portion of Har Gau by the fault of the waitress who took my order. First my main arrived and later the starter which was a fairly good portion of food but at that time I did not realise that I have received some extra food just when I almost finished the first 4 dumplings and when I was about to start to eat the rest another waitress was close to my table so I asked her about my order because it did not seem to be right. When I told her what I initially ordered she said that on the system an extra portion of Har Gau appeared as well but then she said "sorry, maybe the other waitress misheard your order. Don't worry, I will get them to take it off from your bill. "Repeated this twice then she left my table to sort this issue out. And when she returned, she reassured me that the extra portion of starter would not appear on my bill and said that everything was fine. Meanwhile, she did not ask me to return the extra portion of starter, which by the way I have started to eat since I was not asked not to and I was under the impression that the waitress had fixed the problem with the order. Just when I asked for the bill she came back and stated that she had to charge for the extra portion of starter because I have eaten it and I should not have. She just flipped in a blink of an eye, showed me attitude, coldness and there was no proper explanation given. I wish I asked for the manager to talk to but at that point I already felt undervalued, humiliated and furious. Customers should be treated fairly and with respect, this restaurant has failed. I would not return to this place again, it's just...

Very poor experience and a complete waste of money. On arrival, staff were very chaotic and there was a clear lack of communication. We were told we could go and take a seat by one member of staff but were then stopped by another and told that there was a half an hour wait. We waited and returned to the restaurant as we thought it would be worth it- it most definitely was not. There were countless staff aimlessly walking around not appearing to be doing anything, yet it took them 15-20 minutes to come over and take our drink order. Mine and my partners meals came out separately which is never ideal, especially when there’s just two of you dining together. The food was average at best. Unfortunately, it was nothing special or anything that I would go out of my way to recommend. Our server was also far too eager to remove our plates. I had only just put down my cutlery and my plate was taken away; meanwhile, my partner was still eating. The atmosphere was also hugely lacking and contributed to a really dull experience. There was no music playing and the staff seemed completely inexperienced and disinterested. The service was genuinely shocking. I was so disappointed by this experience as my partner and I were so excited to try this place out ever since we found out it was coming to Warrington. There seems to be a lot of potential here but at the moment this is seemingly yet to be released. While it is understandable that with the restaurant opening very recently there are bound to be teething problems, our experience this evening was incredibly poor and way...

Excellent place to have wonderful meal. Me and my wife went to the place to have lunch (Anniversary). It was very good experience. Staffs were very helpful and even helped to select correct menu (based on pictures we took from internet). Very rarely I have seen restaurant manager go to that extent and help customers. Other supporting staffs too were helpful and greet you smiling face. Food taste was fabulous and few items were just mind blowing. Highly recommended place. Definitely we will visit very soon. ------------ Review from 2nd Visit ------------ Visited after 5 months. It was also a special occasion. And we were disappointed. Didn't get the warm feeling this time. One of the staff was drunk, alcohol was all over his breath (he even spilled beer over table and after that no effort to clean the mess). Food and Service Quality has gone downhill. Chinese food means top notch sauce taste which was missing; Noddles very dry and was not tossed in sauce properly. Dimsum stuffing was dry and taste was bland. Sadly the special occasion was spoilt and my wife clearly told she will not visit again (it was her birthday). From 5 star to 2, sorry.

If i could have scored no stars i would've, the outside looked nice. As soon as we went in the music was too loud for the time of day. One of us ate, i ordered roast chicken with fried rice. After a while we were asked if everything was OK. I shown the chicken i had put onto another plate. It was disgusting and certainly was not prepared to order as stated. It was black and grisly the roasted part came off easily to reveal the worst looking chicken? The rice looked and tasted like it had been reheated several times. I asked if i could speak to the manager the 2 girls went over to a man and updated him. After about 5 minutes i went over to speak to him and i showed him the chicken. He said he wasn't the manager, amazingly he informed me he couldn't see my problem. He informed me that's how they cook / serve it, i asked him if he would eat it. But no answer, no apology and he said he would deduct the chicken dish i had. If you want good service, good food DO NOT eat here. I enclose some photographs which do not show the truly disgusting food. Above i scored one star but the truth is it's worth no stars
