This place is very poorly run, very unhygienic and run down. I will never return to kaspas. We were seated, not told whether to go to the counter to order or wait till someone came over? So after waiting we went up to the counter. None of the staff smile or look happy, they have very poor customer service skills. Whilst sat children were running around the place screaming, licking the glass on the ice cream counter and climbing all over all the booths. The group sat at the back did nothing to keep them under control and neither did the staff. After our food came out I had to stop eating it when I saw (possibly the manager) who was wearing gloves scratch his balls very public then proceed to the counter to take food to other customers without changing his gloves or washing his hands. The lack of hygiene continued when I went to use the gents. The toilet roll is on the opposite side of the room, so you cannot access it sat on the toilet. The floor was urine soaked, the taps didn't work, their was no soap and the hand dryer also didn't work. The toilets were filthy and not what you would expect of a food establishment. The cleaning rota that was posted on the wall (see pictures) had also not been updated for nearly a week. And by the lack of actual signatures and cleanliness was never done in the first place. Do not visit this place! Kaspa's head office if you see these reviews please give this place a visit to see how bad it is...
Read moreThe food was good, both my boys had sundaes and my wife and I had a slice of pecan pie, which was lovely. Where this place falls down is in its service. When I went to order my food at the till, I had to wait 5 minutes despite no queue and a couple of staff were present, but buys preparing orders. Eventually a member of staff materialised with 'Oh, are you waiting to be served?'. He took my order but needed support from a colleague to understand how to process the order on the till system.
The order arrived eventually, delivered by a member of staff wearing a puffer jacket, which was unprofessional enough, but to compound the lack of care, not all the orders arrived in one go and on one occasion he was on his mobile while giving us the order. I had to ask three times to get 2 glasses of tap water for my boys. Staff occasionally walked out the front of the restaurant, apparently to have a cigarette. No one asked us if the food was OK - it was, but its another easy bit of customer care that was lacking. I also noticed ripped leather seats which looked like they had been in that state for a while.
I get the sense that the care has gone out of Kaspa's Exeter. There is a sense of complacency about the service and a lack of professionalism. Which is a pity for them, as Exeter has abundant alternatives for choice nowadays. We will not be...
Read moreThank you for responding to my rate. In fact, I’m a big fan of the product that kaspas provide but I think the whole thing is not presented in a satisfying way. First of all, we have been asked to stay out until one of the crew comes; it was sunny and very hot, I was there with my kids for couple of seconds and there is no one look at us, they we busy. I stepped in to escape from the heat and one come to me with unsmiling face and asked me to fill many information that are not usual to be fill in. Only mane and number that I’ve seen in Exeter Liverpool Manchester and Leeds. There is no asking for time or how many or email. This all was first, second, the atmosphere was so bad, the air conditioner are not working very well in that hot weather. The smell of hand sanitizer was unpleasant. The tap in the toilet was running only hot water. The menu was not clean and smelly (vinegar). I was waiting in front of the cashier to order for couple of seconds although there were many people working behind him, I accept his apology by the way. I think this is what I remember about my experience. I really want kaspas to give the pleasant experience I’ve seen in dessert shops I’ve seen like heavenly deserted or dolci. Thanks again for your...
