Love the dog friendly policy and welcoming vibe of this corner cafe overlooking the Quay. Couple serving were friendly and helpful. Coffee and enormous croissant were great. However, the cafe was quiet and as I sat and enjoyed the view of the Quay, the passing joggers and walkers and birds on the river, my eyes crept to the general presentation of the cafe. Essentially the main aspects are covered but the windows were dirty in areas where small or large hands or dogs wouldn't usually make marks. When I used the toilet the hot tap came away from the sink in my hand, there were other noticeable housekeeping aspects which have been missed. The lovely servers were scrolling on their phones a good deal of the time I was in this cafe. A bit more attention to cleanliness, sorting those little maintenance jobs like taps in the wash basin, light switches, wiping walls and windows down etc.. is needed to make this cafe tip top. There could be a bit of a rearrangement of street furniture to make the entrance more accessible and obvious, if you want customers draw them in with a clear route, clear sign and a warm welcome.

This place is totes amazing. I popped in to the cafe with the deepest desire to avoid gale force winds and inhale some calories whilst cycling from dorset to South Hams. Whilst the all day breakfast was amazingly tempting, I went for a baked beans and scrambled egg on toast combo... and OMG, the portion was generous and exceptionally well presented.... with butter and a wedge of bread vice some meh slice of toast from the supermarket . Hot and enjoyable, the food itself would be a reason to visit, but hey, the team also let me charge my phone and let me avoid the worst of the weather as I plucked up the courage to cycle the final 38 miles... All in all. A great gaff selling tasty food and further blessed by really engaging staff. Whilst other cafes in Exeter have a standard 'no' to going the extra mile, these champs aced it. Definitely recommended.

Very nice cafe, dog friendly so a big plus from me and the pooch. Nice atmosphere, great choice of foods and sweet treats( millionaires short bread was v nice) And an ice cream counter+++. When I went it was quiet but that was probably the time I was there. There is even a dog menu for you 4 legged family too. A must check out for those who want a quick drink or a light snack to sit in or on the go.

The coffee was good and service was quick. The food however was fairly underwhelming.

We had the cooked breakfast and roast veg wrap. Overly fatty bacon was undercooked (I prefer mine at least a little bit crispy!), leaving me with huge strips of inedible pale, flabby fat on my plate. I also had to pay extra for mushrooms but only received (what looked like) a single mushroom sliced up! The tomatoes on the plate were warm but, like the bacon, seemingly undercooked. The vegetables in the "Roast Veg Wrap" were basically raw, although my partner said she still enjoyed it. At one point we heard the cook shout to front of staff that she had "messed up the eggs" and so would have to do them again. Friendly-enough staff and cakes/scones looked good — shame we didn't have any. Premises clean and attractive and nice location. Probably would go again for coffee and cake but...

There was a bit of a mixup with the food when we had ordered. I had a preference which was misrecorded; I was a little sleep deprived when the food arrived, I insisted on eating it but wanting my complaint to be known, which is a bit of an awkward thing to do as it is unclear how to remedy. This was a few weeks ago but i wanted to put it right on review - the food was top notch. A meaty fryup, excellent bacon and sausages particularly, and a very, very large vegetarian one with some improvised items thrown in (pancakes, incredible hashbrowns, fried onions, lots of variety/flavour).

They made the mixup right and were polite and courteous. I'm hoping now that I've actually posted this review up I'll be able to get over my embarrassment and go back! Really enjoyed the food - atmosphere was really good, and they do ice cream for dogs which was well received by our...
