The Sawyers Arms - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Exeter

I ordered a steak on a steak night, but to my surprise when the condiments and cutlery was brought out, I was given what seemed to be a crooked butter knife. When I asked if I could have a steak knife the reply was, "I'm sorry but because everyone has ordered steak, we have run out".... I mean everyone ordering steak, on a steak night who would have guessed? When I proceeded to eat my steak what I really should have asked the staff for is a chain saw. Very pleased, pleasant service, quick and food was just fantastic , plenty of variety for veggies , vegans and meat eaters , no complaints what so ever .. oh and the Guinness is absolutely delicious 😋 happy days and will always come again on any day of the week , pleased , happy and satisfied with all and everything .. great beer garden with fairly large smoking area too , what more can one ask for , especially if you are a smoker lol 😆 obviously the food and service make it probably one of the best pubs for food and drink with great atmosphere around . Consistently exceptional customer service at this pub. A person I'd like to name specifically is Jess. She is always a very polite and caring individual who never fails to make me feel welcome.

The pub is very modern, owing to it being only a few years old, and its cleanliness is immaculate - including the toilets.

Very large, scenic beer garden overlooking nearby mountains.

Also very reasonable prices. In fact, the prices of many drinks here are cheaper than other Wetherspoon pubs in South Wales.
