An excellently located taproom, right on the Quayside with plenty of sheltered outdoor seating. Great selection of real ales and craft beer both from Topsham Brewery themselves and other guests, all reasonably priced. There was also a pizza van at the venue, and whilst I didn't order myself, they looked and smelt delicious. Despite restrictions being relaxed, the venue is still operating as table service only. It was sometimes difficult to grab the attention of the staff taking orders, however once placed drinks were served swiftly. Would recommend to anybody visiting Exeter who is a fan of real ales and craft beer.

Topsham Brewery & Taproom is a lovely place for a drink or food, I usually go in after exercising at the local climbing center. The staff are always really friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Be prepared, it will likely be busy and there is often a queue, however it is worth it. If you can find space sitting outside on the benches is great, or just along the quay. The selection of beers are excellent and they will happily let you try a little to see what you like before you buy. What's on offer there does change but I'm not sure how often.

Nestled into its home on the Exeter Canal basin, housed in a historic building with exposed beams and a distinctive industrial feel, Topsham Brewery is a popular and much loved place to grab a bleddy good pint. With some guests such as Sandford Orchards Devon Red, and Utopian Brewery, as well as their own brewed varieties, it is the perfect spot on a sunny afternoon. Portal Pizzas are on hand to deal with a munchy need, hand made and baked on-site it is the perfect combination.

First visit here today and probably the last. The first guy that served us was very helpful and gave us some samples. Ordered our first drinks, Utopian Stout, was very nice and at first a very pleasant experience at the brewery. Went to order the second pint and asked for a Utopian, when realising she was pouring out Utopian Lager rather than stout I pointed out the issue that I meant stout only to be told I should've read the menu as there are are different Utopian beers available. I told her I didn't read the menu previously and was unaware of what was available as the previous barman gave us some recommendations and samples to try which is what I based my previous order on. Needless to say she didn't ask what Utopian we wanted and obviously assumed we just wanted lager. Wouldn't change the order when the mistake was mentioned and was very rude when it raising the issue. First impressions were very good only to be let down by her poor service. Avoid this place if you can and if you do visit there then make sure you're completely specific as to what you want to order as they'll make an assumption without asking. I accept fault on my part for not looking at the menu given my first experience but you don't go into a curry house asking for a madras without the server asking what meat you would choose....word of advice, if you have more than one Utopian to be selected then please clarify which one the customer would like. Less assumption. Also the fact I overheard her complaining to another member of staff about me when questioning her makes me wonder why she's still...

Shocking customer service.

We come regularly and have always enjoyed our experience. On this occasion the larger was poorly described and just said larger. After the drinks arrived we believed that we had been give stout so kindly asked the waitress if it was correct. She was very helpful and confirmed it is the larger but the description is not clear that it’s a dark larger. She kindly offered to get two of us new drinks without us asking. Then the manager came over and rudely said “what’s the problem” and told us that it’s our problem and the staff member “has only been working for 3 weeks so what would she know” amongst other comments. He was incredibly rude considering we even admitted it was our fault but did suggest that the menu wasn’t clear. He brought attention to our table with people overhearing. Awful experience and will never be returning nor will our party. I have never experienced such dreadful...

I’ve always enjoyed dining and spending time in this place until last night (Tuesday 20th of February). My friend and I wanted to play the piano there. After getting approval and support from the customers, we went to talk to the manager of the night who showed us nothing but a cold long face with words like “it’s only for open mic Wednesdays”, “not everyone likes the sound of piano, I don’t like it”, “a no is a no” etc. It’s understandable that piano is only open to play on Wednesdays but not acceptable how he talked and engaged with us. The reasons he gave us, the attitude and tone he showed us are very annoying. Also my friend had played piano there several times and customers had enjoyed and been complimentary - before, that is, when there was a different manager. This definitely changed how I feel about the place now to...
