So stopped in to the white heart for brunch, had pulled pork & pit bean quesadillas, burnt ketchup bacon roll which had charred little gem lettuce and my mum had poached eggs with salmon and avocado on sourdough bread and it was beautiful. Firstly the bacon roll was cooked perfectly the roll was toasted so the bun didn't go soggy, the bacon was cooked crispy and was lovely, the little gem was charred perfectly and still had a crunch to it, the tomato was still fresh and had a fresh crunch to it, the burnt ketchup was gorgeous and smokey and was a perfect accompaniment for each of my dishes, the quesadillas were excellent the pit beans smokey flavour was full of depth and had a lovely BBQ flavour to it the pulled pork was a perfect accompaniment to the dish and the quesadillas were crispy and crunchy, the avocado makes for a brilliant addition but added the burnt ketchup takes the dish to a whole new level. Next was the poached eggs they were cooked perfect still runny, the dish had just the right amount of smashed avocado that it didn't overpower anything else and the smoked salmon was smoked and full of flavour, lastly the sourdough bread was toasted and crunchy compared to normal bread it added a different concept to the dish making it a level above normal dishes found elsewhere. My only issue was not enough pork in the dish for me but other than that was a beautiful brunch and the staff were very...

A very lovely 14th Century pub with wooden beams, right on the main high street. The pub was clean and the staff very welcoming.
My parents arrived over 30minutes early, but the amazingly courteous, friendly and accommodating staff seated them and offered them drinks. Once we all arrived, our waitress confirmed the orders (we had to preorder as there was more than 10), and we didn’t have to wait long to get served. The food was really tasty, and with really good portions (many of my group had ordered starters as mains, but even they were satisfied!).
My Sunday Roast was awesome, lots of meat, tatties, gravy and extra veg too, including my fav cauliflower cheese!!
Following the meal, the staff were happy to bring out a birthday cake that my family had made and even provided plates, cutlery a knife and a lighter.
The bar staff were also friendly and helpful.
A big thank you from me and my...
Read moreWe come here often as it's a nice pub to have a drink in, however the food is really inconsistent, and a lot of the menu is quite overpriced for what it is...£12 for 2 minuscule, flavourless tacos with barely any filling in, is a ps take. The overall cleanliness there leaves a lot to be desired too. The toilets are pretty grim, and that says a lot to me about how much care is given to an establishment. If they're happy for customers to see that level of filth in plain sight, it speaks volumes...I saw a family there this sunday wipe down a child's highchair with their own anti bac wipes before use (good job they did too) as it was absolutely filthy! Management didn't really seem to give a st either. Wait staff are lovely, just a shame the management seem lazy & careless. It's basically a glorified Wetherspoons (& probably not as clean!) Happy to go for a swift half there, but certainly won't be eating...
