There are a few options for desserts and some different sandwiches. The desserts are a bit over priced( my blueberry cake cost 3.5 pounds and it is so tiny) but the tea and coffee are ok and just have reasonable prices. There chairs and tables are very cheap, but sitting next to the window would be more worth it. However, it is a very crowded place. It seems some people sit here for a very long time and wouldn’t leave. I still like this cafe though because it’s not as bad as some other museum cafe which are so dirty and poorly managed.

If you’re hungry after a look round the Baltic then go to Baltic kitchen! They had a range of sandwiches and toasties. Soup of the day with either a cheese toastie or bread rolls. I did want a cheese and onion toastie but they’d sold out and my partner wanted the sausage roll but again they’d sold out. We still had tasty food - soup and a cheese toastie. We were quite late for lunch so if you go early they probably have them available. Cakes were really nice! Staff really friendly.

After reading the reviews, I pondered whether they've altered their approach or if I simply lucked out with a good experience. The coffee was enjoyable, the carrot cake portion was generous and tasty, the staff were wonderful, and the view was stunning. However, I'm still perplexed by why many others didn't have the same positive experience.

Friendly but untrained staff. I asked for soup with a roll and was asked white or brown roll..but when it arrived it was served with burnt toast and l was informed that’s the normal..not rolls. My soup tasted delicious, but was almost cold with just a hint of warmth. I sent it back and they reheated it to scalding levels..very dangerous if l hadn’t checked on why soup was steaming. It remained too hot for five mins. I didn’t want to send it back again because of thinking that they do not know what they are doing. At no point was l asked how the soup was? That should have been the norm after a...
